"We can't recommend Matachica highly enough - we loved everything about our stay there! Beautiful setting, top-notch service, great combination of access to adventure (e.g. snorkeling excursions, golf cart rentals to venture into town) and relaxation (pool/hot tub, hammocks, lounge chairs on the pier). "We stayed in two premium king rooms. They were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel offers a bunch of beneficial services that they don't really advertise. They have paddle boards available to use for no fee. They can facilitate tours or a golf cart rental. They offer filtered water in the shared kitchen. They have an included continental breakfast. All the staff was very friendly and eager to help. We had a shared balcony that looked out over Palapa Bar towards the ocean and the reef. The rooftop bar was a nice spot to relax, though the available seat fill up fast. The only negative we experienced isn't something the hotel can control. The building is at an intersection with several hotels right there and the Palapa Bar. It's busy and can get a little loud. During the day there are golf carts going by frequently. In the evening, live music drofts over from the bar. We did have one occurrence of people down on the street making a bunch of noise at 4am. They quieted down pretty quickly but not before waking us up. Not something I'm willing to knock a star off for, considering it's out of the hotels control."
