It's self-checkin, no people there, you need to have your assigned room# and pin to get your room key. We arrive there in dark, the Good map led us to a wrong place - a camp site(also no service people at the camp site) So it took us half hour to get to the actual iStay Cottages.

Great option when coming on a late flight or leaving on an early one and need to stay close to the airport but still far from city and have a unique experience. Cute, very clean, simple, comfortable and actually spacious, not tiny. Contactless check in is a breeze.

This is a self check-in stay and the communication was abysmal. The property administration never sent us the advance email you typically receive with the check-in details. We arrived at the property and the front door said to 'refer to the email we received' and to 'call this number; in case we needed help, which we were unable to do as we are foreigners and did not have access to a local phone plan while in Iceland. We had to spend over an hour working through Expedia who had to call them repeatedly until they finally answered; we know Expedia explained our problem to them and they advised how to access our cottage, but we still never heard directly from the property administration after that - no apology or any information about what to expect during our stay. After we finally managed to get into our cottage, we found bugs (dead and alive) all over the place. There was no hand soap in the shared bathrooms, and when we left our own in there for others to use, the cleaner threw it away and still did not refill the soap dispenser. This is a nice-looking cottage on the surface, but we were really disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and the lack of customer service.

Great property, would highly recommend if you have an early morning flight from Keflavik. It’s less than 10 min drive to the airport and there is a gas station in town. Nice little cottages. We stayed in one with two twin beds and access to the shared bathrooms. Beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms were large, modern, and clean. Didn’t use the kitchen ourselves but did see other guests cooking meals in there. Self check-in and check-out was super easy. Google Maps took us to the wrong location (campground next door) but we quickly figured out where we were supposed to go. Only complaint was that the wifi is very spotty inside the cottages. Had to leave the door cracked open to get a good signal, which was less than ideal because it gets quite cold and windy at night.

Very clean facilities including our cabin and bathroom. Despite it being cold and rainy, our cabin was fairly warm. The bed was comfortable. Check in/out process was very smooth. It is very close to the airport and Dollar/Thrift my car rental which was nice for us returning our rental car early in the morning.
