Nice 1-bedroom apartment
Comfortable 1-bedroom apartment. Nicely appointed. Kitchen met our needs. Comfortable bed. Great little outside deck. Parking was fine for us but lot might be challenging for big vehicles when building/lot is full. Owner responsive when we needed something.

Great Santa Barbara Charm
What a great find! Location was excellent for walking to the harbor, beach, shops and restaurants. Very charming old building with updated and renovated units with character and personality. Bedroom was quiet and dark for great sleeping, on a super comfy bed. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, new appliances, and even a gas Weber grill on the deck. The furniture was comfortable and they even had fans. We had a great stay and would return!

Perfect Condo for a Couple
Wonderful time in Santa Barbara. Condo unit was as advertised. Very clean, very comfortable, perfect for a couple. Location was perfect, we parked the car and walked to the beach, restaurants, etc. Neighborhood is quiet. The patio and lounge chairs are very nice and relaxing. Definitely enjoyed our stay at the Affordable Beach Getaway.

Very memorable 1st Visit to Santa Barbara
My husband and I stayed in the condo for 3 days while exploring Santa Barbara for the first time. The condo had everything we needed and was extremely clean! We are already planning to return and stay at this beautiful condo!

Fabulous location and apartment
We have stayed in this apartment before and we were very happy to return for a 10 night stay. Excellent location and the apartment is very comfortable. I like to read a book on the sun lounges and although the weather was a bit chilly it was warm in the sun. Easy flat walk to the shopping area in State street and very close and quick walk to the beach. The bedroom has block out curtains and the bed is extremely comfortable. Highly reccommend

great sopt for your Santa Barbara visit!
Great location just a couple blocks to the beach and very shot walk to to pier. Love the big, rambling yellow house with this unit on the second floor ( and the fun balcony ! ) Everything is just right, with lovely decor, a big comfy bed, plenty of closet space, etc. A perfect spot of a couple's getaway - so glad we chose this place!

Overall we really liked our stay. The furniture and fixtures were clean and comfortable and well suited to the property. We have two comments regarding what might improve the property The front hallway closet had a musty smell, which was off putting when we first entered. Also, as we are from the midwest, we were not used to the softened water. Lastly, there were a few ants in both the kitchen and bathroom.

Large and comfortable one bedroom unit near the beach
We were surprised at how large this one bedroom unit was! Very comfortable, clean, and in a great location. We will definitely look to stay here again the next time we visit Santa Barbara.

Beach get away
Such a nice space, building is older but we like old funky homes so it worked , great location close to beach and great restaurants Also the landlord provided perfect instructions for checking in and out no stress on checking out and this is huge for me.

Great location and a welcoming property
We loved the location, at walking distance to most of downtown Santa Barbara! The unit is in a well-maintained building and dedicated parking was a great bonus. We were there during a serious heat wave, and unfortunately, just like this home, I would imagine that a lot of homes in Santa Barbara don't have AC. The fans could have been better in the apartment, but aside from that we had a good time!

Great property but some cleaning issues.
Wonderful property and location. Carpet badly needs a serious cleaning or better yet, replace it. This unit tends to be hot in the summer - no AC and only one rickety box fan. Vent fan in bathroom is taped together and needs to be replaced.

Amazing property in amazing location.
Just a five minute walk to the beach, this sweet apartment provides a perfect jumping off point for Santa Barbara adventures. I came for work and stayed in another unit in the building. I loved it so much I booked this unit for my next trip. It’s close to everything you want to do in downtown Santa Barbara. I walked everywhere. Restaurants a few blocks away, beach a few blocks away and a quiet location away from the noise. I love these units and will most definitely stay here again.

Fantastic place and location in Santa Barbara
This place is very well located in Santa Barbara - just 2 blocks from the waterfront path and beach. The apartment has everything you need - well stocked kitchen, bathroom with great water pressure, BBQ, nice living room and good wifi connection. I am already thinking about re-booking again for next year.

Perfect fit for us
The apartment was a great fit for our weekend get away. The location made walking everywhere easy and simple. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was super. This place is a gem hidden in plain site.

Perfect SB Getaway
This location was about a 10 minute walk from the wineries and 5 minutes from the beach. It was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Better than we imagined
Such a lovely place to stay to visit Santa Barbara for a few days. We enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and appreciated the private parking. The condo is so spacious and lovely and gave us plenty of room to enjoy ourselves. It was clean and attractive, and it’s within walking distance to State Street, the Funk Zone and the Harbor area. On our next visit, we would love to stay at your place again!

Judith and I were traveling in the Santa Barbara area to go to a wedding. We decided to extend our Trip by a couple of days. This property was the perfect way to turn a good trip into a great one. The layout of this particular unit is perfect. It was clean and well appointed. It's proximity to the marina area made it ideal for us. Going up the stairs with our luggage was a challenge, but we just took one step at a time and it worked out fine. Melanie and her team were very responsive to any small need that we had.

Outstanding and Perfect Location
This was the perfect place for us. Literally three blocks from the beach, close to coffee shops and restaurants. We could walk to so many restaurants within 10-15 minutes. Two beautiful private decks each with cushy, comfortable lounge chairs. Even the front window of the living room had an extraordinary view. Excellent amenities. Parking space in a private lot behind the house. Management responded to any needs immediately. We will stay here again!

Not Clean
Read reviews saying it was clean, that was not the case for us. The kitchen was horrible. We had to wash the dishes before we ever used them. Dishes were put away dirty, dried onion and sauce on the plates, dirty silverware with food and sauce everywhere, dirty pots and pans thrown in the cupboard, dried liquid in the cups and mugs, not a single dish towel to be found, and the scrub sponge was old used and full of soap, not new. Nobody wants someone else’s used and soiled scrub sponge. Also, fingerprints on every glass surface and dirty light switches. We found a used contact lense, wine cork, and a marble. Really disappointed in the lack of cleanliness. Not what we were expecting. Additionally, people were illegally parked in the parking lot a number of days, parked where it said NO PARKING, making it extremely difficult to maneuver. The location is great, but when you have to clean before you can relax it makes for a stressful start.

Owners are unstable
My experience started out well with this property. It was a good location and the property was great for a working vacation. I was working 4 days a week from the unit and then taking 3 day weekends. After about a week of my stay there, an incredibly loud noise from the roof could be heard. Melanie told me that there had been a roof emergency and they were checking in to see what was happening and would let me know how long the very loud noise would continue. The noise ended up continuing throughout the rest of my stay making it very difficult to work from the unit during the day. At one point Melanie and I had arranged for me to stay an additional few days in a different unit within their building and then, 2 days before that arrangement was supposed to happen, Melanie and her husband called me and told me that they no longer were going to have me stay there and became irate and inappropriate during a phone call. During my multiple week stay, there were 2 nights that I had a friend stay with me so we could celebrate her 40th birthday. We only had a few friends to the unit during the afternoon to drop off presents for my friend before we all went out for dinner. She and I came back to the unit and had a glass of wine on the patio. No other people were there. The next morning, Melanie's husband called me irate, belligerent and screaming at me that they wanted me to leave and that if I wasn't out by the arranged time they would throw my stuff outside for me. They took back the agreement to stay in another room. He was yelling so loudly on the phone that, while talking on the phone with him in the kitchen of the unit, my friend sitting on the patio outside could hear him screaming. He stated that he had been watching us, he new what we were doing, and he could see what was happening. He made it clear that he had been watching us. He also made reference to personal items that I had within the unit (all legal) and where they were located. The only way that he would have known that is if he had entered the unit without my permission or had cameras in the unit watching us, both of which would be illegal. The phone call was so traumatising to me that, when I hung up the phone, I began shaking, crying and having a full on anxiety attack. They made me feel so afraid for my personal safety that I immediately packed all of my things and left two days early. VRBO didn't seem to care about my claim when I called and told them I feared for my safety.

In the 20 years of doing business we rarely have guests that are so disrespectful to the property, adjacent neighbors and to us. As Tiffany mentions we tried to work with her on the noise that resulted from a fairly nominal repair matter for which no other guest complained. During her stay we had multiple complaints from other guests about the partying that went on outside on the deck and in late hours in the Getaway. It was clear to see on the open deck the number of people she had visiting, no cameras were necessary. When confronted about the number people and the partying she became irate and said we had been spying on her. At this point we only wished for her to peacefully stay and she tried to extort us for money in order not to have a bad review for which we did not participate. Tiffany also involved VRBO and we all got on a phone call to try to resolve the matter. It was apparent from VRBO, who does not take these matters lightly, that her complaints were fabricated and that the women was highly irrational. We would never want her back on our property.
