Charming Cottage Walking Distance to Everything

Experience the quintessential Santa Barbara neighborhood. The house was built in 1930, and has been extensively remodeled including the bathrooms and the kitchen. The living room is comfortable and well appointed as well as featuring a 70" diagonal Sony TV, surround sound, Basic Cable, Amazon Fire Stick, Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Showtime, Hulu, and a BluRay/DVD player. There is Eeros Mesh enhanced WiFi and it's reliable and fast. All 3 bedrooms are large, airy, and full of light. The bedroom with the en-suite bath has a 43" Sony TV which has all the streaming channels, but no Basic Cable channels. The kitchen is new with stainless appliances and granite tops. The Sunroom connected to the kitchen is the place to hang out with it's French doors (3) and 4 large windows. Off the Sunroom is a redwood deck w/ umbrella, and a comfortable and colorful patio with seating and umbrellas. The living room has a gas log fireplace, as well as a new dramatic mantel, hearth & surround.

The places to walk to are pretty impressive and include 2 grocery stores, a Trader Joe's, 3 sushi bars, 3 Italian places, several Mexican places, a couple of new California Cuisine excellent eateries, a CVS, 4 (at least) nail salons, bookstore ( printed books), Santa Barbara Municipal Golf Course, 3 breakfast places, a couple of bakeries, several bars, 2 Thai restaurants, 3 pizza joints, 2 dry cleaners, a Starbucks, gas stations, liquor stores, convenience stores, on and on....ALL of this a few blocks from our quiet neighborhood.

My wife and I have a small and separate cottage at the rear of the property, that we stay in while you are our guests in the main house. We occupy the carport which is attached to our unit, and far back patio as well. Access to the detached laundry is provided. We use the driveway to access our unit and carport. Street parking in front of the house is readily available.

Family Vacay!

What a lovely home! Quiet, beautiful streets, Mountain views and walking distance to shops, food and bars and a golf course. This house is close to everything. The home itself is stunning! Perfect for a family of 6! Thank you and we will definitely be back!

Had a great stay on a beautiful weekend.

We drove up to Santa Barbara for a 3 day weekend with some friends and no kids. :) The location was great, quiet neighborhood and close to downtown. The house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable and the host is very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely home! Excellent stay!

Total comfort. Rodney’s cottage is spotless and beautifully appointed. The lovely coastal breeze and the 5-star bedding made for a luxurious night’s sleep. Not as close to town as we had hoped, but a $6 or $7 Uber got us there in a flash. Well worth it for such perfect accommodations!

Charming Santa Barbara home

Great location in Santa Barbara.

This was a great house to serve as a base for exploring Santa Barbara. Close enough to everything, yet situated within a beautiful residential area. You really get a feel for what it is like to live there. Rodney's home is very comfortable and has everything you would need. Rodney is a gentleman and is sincerely interested in you having a good time. We look forward to the next time.

Fantastic

We stayed here with a group of friends and we were SO impressed! The neighborhood is just as beautiful as the home is. The location is unbeatable and is so close to restaurants, shopping, groceries, etc. Rodney was a wonderful host as well! Unlike other homes where it feels so minimal that it’s hard to feel comfortable or “at home”, Rodney’s home is a welcoming and comfortable feel with so many personal touches. Incredibly clean and wonderful amenities, I would recommend any group to stay here!

Oasis in Santa Barbara

This beautifully renovated home is inviting, beautiful, and full of lovely art, unusual and attractive rugs, furniture, and includes easy to use functionality. The beds are comfortable, the showers are very pretty, and the kitchen is fully stocked with colorful china and everything you need. The outside area invites rest and relaxation, and the neighborhood is full of unusual architecture and gardens. We sorely needed this oasis away from our homes where we've been sheltering in place. And the beach is nearby!

Home Away From Home

A perfect stay at this VRBO. It is truly a gem! When you arrive you will immediately notice the beautiful architecture of the house and welcoming front yard. If you are lucky, Rodney will be there to greet you, he is an amazing host. Our family of three had plenty of space to relax and get ready for a wedding in Santa Barbara. The home is so well cared for and the neighborhood is quiet and beautiful…take a walk if you can! This is the perfect location to explore Santa Barbara, you won’t be disappointed!

A slice of paradise

What a home. It’s so warm. So clean. So spacious for our family of four with two adult daughters. We were in for a family wedding in Santa Barbara and the home is in a historic and beautiful neighborhood just a ten minute drive from downtown but walkable to restaurants, grocery, coffee shops nearby. We also liked being residential and not among all the tourists. In the home is everything you could need and we enjoyed the outdoor patio space. Rodney was super communicative and gracious. He met us at the house and gave us a great overview. He responds promptly to any questions though we really didn’t have any! There is a guest book with all the info one could possibly need. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite rentals ever, and I am a tough customer .

Quiet quaint quality home

This 1930-40s home is in a lovely, walkable neighborhood of unique homes near shops and restaurants. So so quiet it’s hard to believe. The cottage-like home has been lovingly restored by longtime owners, with updated bathrooms and kitchen. Comfy King bed in the master, wonderful living room with large screen TV, cozy and bright sitting room connected to kitchen. We would stay here again! Host is SUPER friendly and responsive to any issue, holiday or no holiday!!!

Great Family Stay

Our family of 6 was in Santa Barbara for a family wedding. This was a perfect house and location for us. House is well maintained and Rodney was a very gracious host and we enjoyed spending some time talking and learning about the area. If we ever get back to the area would definitely stay there again!
