Spacious, clean and comfortable with beautiful mountain views, in a quiet location. Well equipped kitchen, lots of clean towels, huge comfortable bath towels. Great outdoor spaces for lounging. A really wonderful Santa Fe retreat!
We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful, beautifully decorated guest house. The view of the mountains across the valley was lovely. The host provided many amenities, including fresh fruit, sparkling cider, and more. Will definitely stay here again when our travels take us to Santa Fe.
I came to town for leisure but still had to do some remote work. This fit the bill perfectly. Desk area is separated just enough to cut out distractions. It was super clean and decorated beautifully. View was amazing too. Would totally stay here again if in the area. It’s worth it.
House was absolutely amazing. The details that they have put into the house is crazy. The pictures for this house do not do justice. The price is right and you will absolutely love this house and yes it has AC and Heating and amazing views. You cannot go wrong with this house.
My husband and I loved the magical piece of Africa that Christine has created in the foothills of Santa Fe, on a peaceful dead-end road with great views. We sat on the little balcony facing east for our morning coffee and watched the sun rise over the hills, spent time in the huge cushioned swing on the west side patio, thumbed through her wonderful selection of art books, marveled at the extraordinary collection of African art on the walls....and had a hard time pulling ourselves away to see the rest of Santa Fe. We stayed ten days and felt nurtured by Christine's generous and delightful attention. We feel we've made a new friend and look forward to our next visit.
Walking into the guest house that evening was an unexpected feast for the eyes. Pictures don't do this place justice. First you notice the beautiful lighting illuminating the African art. An incredible array of large illustrated books of an anthropological nature adorned the wooden furniture which could have been considered art pieces on their own right. The special touches by the host made us feel so welcomed. There was soft music when we arrived and ice cold infused water ready to drink. If you like anthropology, history, Archeology or learning about new cultures you will fall in love with this cozy guest house. While this rental is a few miles outside of the heart of Santa Fe, you will still get the Santa Fe flare and experience staying here; The stucco building, the fireplace, the rich mix of wood/rugs and the native landscaping settled among the rocks and stone. Make no mistake, despite the cultural traditional vibe, every modern convenience is provided. The location nestled up in the hills provides a gorgeous vista to watch the sunlight spread or fade along the hills, giving way to very quiet and cozy evenings.
We cannot recommend this place enough.
We've been gone almost a week from four, life-changing nights in the comforts of the Nomad Guesthouse (one of two guesthouses owned and operated on this particular site by host Christine), and we are basically sick with missing all elements of the stay. We couldn't bear to leave. We are indeed homesick for those exact, rural Santa Fe coordinates and the homestead she created there; We don't want to be back HERE, seventeen hours and a time zone away.
We arrived as strangers from the Midwest Prairie--fully expecting to be 'ships passing in the night', likely to never meet the host, as is totally commonplace for vacation rentals and their 'mores' and etiquette--
But she perfectly and gracefully and graciously executed all elements of hosting such that we actively sought reasons to walk with her, talk with her, chat on the phone with her even though she's on site;
In Sum: We miss her terribly. We miss the accommodations terribly.
You, Fellow Roamer of the Earth, please don't shortchange your Santa Fe experience by choosing somewhere else to hang your hat.
As I wrote in a short letter of thanks to her in her guest notebook on the sad morning we had to leave: Christine could not have done ANYTHING else in support of our comfort and peace and enjoyment and safety as a host.
Hence our one-hundred-star review! Five stars is woefully too few and doesn't do her vacation rental(s) justice.
Highly recommended. Surrounded by lovely hills, but only 15 minutes from town. Loved the African art and books. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Our little dog loved it too.
Not only is Christine a kind and generous host, the property is gorgeous. This private guest house with amazing views was just what we needed to relax and recharge. Everything about the house was comfortable and welcoming, including the beautiful king bed. It was also a quick, easy drive into town for sight-seeing, shopping and dining. We look forward to staying again!
This spot surpassed our expectations! Walked in to music playing, lights on and an absolutely gorgeous room! The decor spoke to a love of travel and was so beautiful. Loved all the books and the cheese, crackers and grapes provided in the kitchen were such a welcome surprise. This spot is a bit away from town but that allowed us to really relax. Highly recommend!

Property was clean, tastefully decorated, new appliances. Host was very responsive and provide a warm welcome with fruit, wine and bathrobes.
Only thing negative was it was very warm in the area and wasn’t air conditioned. Host has only had the property a short while and has plans to address situation. The only time it was noticeable was from 5-10 pm, otherwise very comfortable.
The owner has clearly made tremendous efforts to make the guest house both comfortable and interesting. It is utterly charming, and Christine had soft music playing, soft lights on, the electric fireplace on, and many nice touches. These include: cold chardonnay, a pitcher of cold water with fruit slices, a bowl of fruit, a chunk of smoked goat cheese with crackers and a can of mixed nuts, all sorts of things we might need in the bathroom, and a bucket of ice in the freezer.
The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped.
A very large array of African art is essentially curated around the living room area and bed alcove. Simply beautiful.
The private, partly covered patio, offers a comfy swing and Adirondack chairs to sit outside and relax, watching the light play over the mountains.
