"The small hotel is in Marampata, Peru, close to Choquequirao. Everything that gets to Marampata comes on a human's or mule's back on a brutally long day of hiking. The fact that the hotel exists there is amazing in itself. No idea how the mattresses got there. My son and I stayed 2 nights on a recent hiking trip to Choque. "Kind of like a lodge style of property on lovely grounds. At some times of year I'd wonder if bugs might be an issue, but it was nice when we went. Staff was amazing, very helpful. The picked up our luggage from the train and dropped it back off- first rate service. Breakfast and dinner were great. We enjoyed the tour of the gardens to see the orchids and learn about the birds.
