Very good

The house, property and the amenities were fantastic! The only thing I had a problem with is that the housekeeper did not visit the property between the last renter and us. No clean towels, no clean bedding and dishwasher was not clean and emptied and the counters were very dirty. It probably sounds trivial but after a 12 hour drive, I definitely did not want to do laundry and make up the 3 beds. Normally I bring my own shampoos and soaps but did not this time and there wasn’t any nor was there laundry soap to wash the past renters mess. Luckily there is an Ingles about 15 mins away! I have a problem paying a cleaning fee when I had to clean before even getting to enjoy my vacation. Other than that we really had a blast and would rent again
House had unique decor. Couple of things Only has Keurig coffee maker, not regular drip as pictured. Vent fan does not work and no cover on vent in floor of dining. The kids had fun. One especially loved and slept on the "cowch". Had fun watching the tadpoles in the pond. The location was close to where we needed to be and comfortable. Sleeping eight is a stretch but doable. Thank you.

Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
NoWifi and Doors and shower didn’t work properly.
I rented this property near my wedding venue to look at the venue before our wedding date. The listing says that the house has WiFi but there is no WiFi. Also the recessed doors did not work properly and one would not open at all. The owner or their representative did not answer my calls until I had already checked out. Very unsatisfactory experience.
Decorated in the farmhouse style with personal touches.Very clean and central location.Wheelchair accessible.Safe neighborhood. It is not in a remote location so if you prefer to be near shops and restaurants it’s the place to be.
The property is as pictured. We had 4 adults and 4 children from 4-12 with us. There are 3 bedrooms that would accommodate 5 adults with various options for children as they can sleep anywhere. The house is very homey and beautiful and the fireplace was well used and enjoyed by all.
The exterior gazebo, fire pit and pond were very charming.
Reading other comments about this property I can understand some of their dislikes as with ever home there is going to be maintenance and repairs necessary but for the location and price we were extremely pleased with our choice.
On a side note if you choose to check out on a Sunday make sure you take the trash to town on Saturday as the dump facility is closed on sundays.

A Rip Off
HAD TO LEAVE THIS PROPERTY. This HOUSE WAS MISREPRESENTED ON VRBO. IT DOES NOT SLEEP 8 PEOPLE. TWO OF THE "BEDS" ARE VERY THIN FOAM CUSHIONS. IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE TRIED TO CORRECT IT UNDER THE DETAILS SINCE WE HAVE FILED A CLAIM. RODENT FEECES WAS IN THE MASTER CLOSET UPON ARRIVAL. HOUSE NEXT TO NOISEY ROAD WHICH THEY DO NOT DISCLOSE. TRASH CAN BROKEN, GRILLE DIDN'T WORK. POCKETS DOORS ARE A FIRE HAZARD THEY GET STUCK. SPOKE WITH OWNER WHO AGREED TO REFUND US ALL BUT TWO NIGHTS, AND SHE DID THE OPPOSITE, ONLY REFUNDED US FOR ONE NIGHT. I'M IDISPUTING THE CHARGES. DO NOT GET DUPED BY THIS DISHONEST OWNER!

details
Very nice property, clean, very mountain cabin feel and decor, homey, excellent for 4-6 people, great size bathrooms, open kitchen and eating area, newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms. A few details....the address is wrong for the Safety Building where you pick up the key, and if you want to access the Sapphire Valley Resort please advise the owner in advance who then needs to communicate your name to the resort. The woman at the resort was not cooperative with me to access the amenities. And finally, it is musty, and if you have any mold allergies, be aware...you have been forewarned. I loved the outdoor setting of the property, overall cleanliness, and the owner was available when called. Please note, no coffee maker, the ice maker doesn't work, no TV signal in four seasons room, and you must take all of your garbage with you.
It took about 6 hours to cool the house, both grandsons were stung by yellowjackets walking to the front door!! My husband found the nest and brought some spray to try to kill them, but they were still there when we left, we just used the back door! Overall it was a pleasant stay!
The home is uniquely decorated with nice finishes. It accommodated my family of 4 nicely. There is a neat firepit area outside to enjoy. The home had several items that needed to be repaired but did not necessarily affect our stay. The house is very close to Sapphire Ski Resort. US 64 is directly behind the home but the road noise quieted down in the late evening. Overall it is a nice little house in need of repairs, and maybe a little over priced due to these factors.
Overall - this is a wonderful place to stay. Few things make it hard to rate it higher.
The Good:
The location is perfect, it's nice and quiet, and it's fairly centrally located. The house itself was clean and well maintained, furnishings were themed and had a great mountain flair.
The Hrmmm:
- Warning, the beds are very hot. If you are a cold sleeper, they just are....warm. Not a dealbreaker, but not our style
- The pocket doors stick a lot, so you have to get a little creative
- The welcome packet is....wrong. It lists the WiFi incorrectly. I had to call the owner to find out there is a Sprint HotSpot in the master bedroom that you have to turn on. Thats when we found the sticky note with the code written on it. Annoying, but not a deal breaker
- The pictures clearly show a standard coffee maker. To our surprise, we entered and they had a Keurig instead. Therefore, the coffee we brought was useless and I was making a late-night run into town to buy k-cups so we'd had coffee in the morning. Again, not a deal breaker, just a bit annoying.
The BAD:
- Ugh, the check-in process. You have to drive to the security office 4-5 miles away. It's poorly marked, especially in the dark. It showed up on google maps, but not any other GPS (so trust nothing else). When we got there, they were the rudest people and were less than helpful. I walk up to the window to ask for the key and give them the address - they kept saying "are you in the resort". When I told them I'm not sure, they got frustrated and said "WHICH resort, we have 3". I again gave them the email, my name and my phone number. They acted like they didn't believe me - so while at the window, they called around then finally said "Oh, we found you. You are in a PRIVATE home".
Yes, I know, I told them that in the beginning. I asked for more details, and they said they had nothing else for me because it's a private home. They handed me a key and an activity map from 2019 with last years dates (LOL). Not a great first impression.
- The trash situation. You have to pack up your trash and haul it to an out-of-town receptacle. Only, the address is worthless and can't be found on GPS. Doesn't matter - the place is closed on Sunday (our checkout day). So to avoid the $25 charge, we stuffed our trash in the bins at Ingles.
Overall a great place, but the checkin/out process needs polishing.
We had a wonderful time in Sapphire Valley. The cabin is beautifully decorated and so charming. The location is a short, lovely drive away from amazing waterfalls, lake fishing and shopping.
We liked the home because it had a lot of character. It was comfortable, well equipped and was a convenient location for us. It does not have wifi, but has a hotspot.
