"Don & Shelley are the perfect hosts. They made us feel right at home. The room was spotless and smelled wonderfully clean. You MUST eat dinner at the Lodge. Don is an awesome chef - food is delicious! The added "room" outside for guests to sit by the huge gas fireplace to read, play board games or just sit, relax and socialize. We stayed 2 nights to enjoy the Whiteface Mountain/Lake Placid area. Very close to attractions. It was the perfect getaway for couples."

"An excellent place for the price point. I was greeted warmly by the staffer and given a larger room because it was the only first floor room left -- very welcome to someone with a wobbly knee. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate. There are many signs of age in worn surfaces and older furnishings but everything was clean. Bring a sleep mask as only blinds cover the windows and some light can come in, in my case from the person who had their car headlights on next to my room for a couple of hours -- be considerate; it doesn't cost you anything. The beach looked great -- the weather wasn't conducive to using it on this trip. Go left from the motel on Rt. 9 for a mile or so and you will find a charming downtown with a great bookstore and a coffee shop next to each other: Cornerstone Books and the Koffee Kat."

"The room was a good size, beds ere comfortable, heating and air conditioning was good. At prime time for a shower the water was not hot. At off hours it was better, not great. The room has so much potential but that is why it is a low price, which is why I took the room. My only complaint is the sign to the entrance is small and unlit it is easy to miss. It has not changed in over a year so i guess they don't think it is important."

"Amazingly cute little cabin with a stone fireplace. So cozy and welcoming. Small but well defined areas made it very comfortable. Loved personal little touches like handwritten notes on how to work the TV, cleanup and welcome. Amazingly sweet porch with a “Welcome Gnome”, lights and chairs to enjoy the beautiful outdoor area. We were there in the rain which added its own charm but in the summer I bet the fire pits are magical. Would definitely love to stay here again and for longer!!!!"
