Garden Level of Grand Savannah Home

Ground level apartment in a grand historic home on famous Gaston Street. Right at the top of Forsyth Park. Gated front courtyard perfect for cocktails.

This garden apartment is 1300 square feet! It has a private kitchen, large living room with pullout sofa, and a bedroom with new King size bed and a wicker daybed.



Parking is on-street and spots are easy to find at this location. Meters are free nights and weekends in this part of Downtown. Meters must be paid during the day on weekdays and can be paid via Park Savannah app or with a 'Visitors Parking Day Pass' available to cover all day/night parking for travelers. Check with the City of Savannah Parking Services for pricing on the Day Pass. This can be purchased from the Visitors Center on MLK, the Parking Services office on Bryan.

Within one block there is non-metered parking for those who prefer not to buy the pass. Shared laundry is available for your convenience right outside your back door in the owner's utility room.

Pretty nice

Good air-conditioning, comfy bed, nice living room area for hanging out. Easy to walk to Old Town and Forsythe park. General mildewy smell, but I suspect that can't be avoided in Savannah.

Historic Savannah

Unit is on the ground floor. No steps to contend with. Location is good and feels safe. The unit is about .5 mile to many restaurants and abundant shopping. The entry way is slightly narrow with foliage, but not bad. Lighting could be brighter. No real natural light except in the primary bedroom and the shades are closed as it faces the street.TVis in the bedroom only, so

Nice stay in historic Savanah

Enjoyed our stay at this historic apt. It was cute and comfortable. Never saw owners and heard them minimally above us. Only have 2 suggestions...change out bath mat and use air fresheners to get rid of old musty smell of house. We have an old house ( over 200+ yrs) and candles work wonders.

Savannah never disappoints! This property was in an excellent location. Loved how spacious the apartment was. Such a cool place with exposed brick and wooden beams in the ceiling. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

4 nights on beautiful street!

Loved the location! So close to all the sights in Savannah! Went to Tybee Beach for a day. Sang karaoke at The Rail. All the historic squares and St Johns. Trolley tour. House had a slight musty smell but after talking to the locals that is to be expected as the houses are old. Could have used a couple more towels. But definitely would recommend and stay here again!

Perfect Location

This property has a ton of history and charm and is within steps of beautiful Foryseth Park. Check-in and out was a very smooth process. My only complaint is the overwhelming musty smell and the very old unusable furniture. We spent most of our stay in the bedroom as that is the only room with natural light.

Great location but both mornings we awoke to the smell of cigarette smoke wafting into the apartment. Really strong. Also the bed was uncomfortable. Otherwise decent accommodation.

Unacceptable and misleading

Upon our stay at this apartment we were extremely disappointed.The pictures of this property were well stage and hid the secrets within the walls of the apartment. On the door of the apartment there was a mail slot that is left open and exposed to the inside of the house. This is a security issue. As you come into the home, the lights were not properly working. The main light in the bedroom would not come on at all, and only some of the lamps were working. There were dead bugs in the house as well. The artwork on the walls was unacceptable and disturbing. We contacted the host and they said it was “Up for interpretation”. Yet the art was all demonic. In some some way, shape or form the art pointed to Satanic figures and demons. This art was beside the bed at eye level of laying down, I would not want to roll over in the morning and see Satan and his demons from my sleep. This was very disturbing and left us feeling uneasy. On top of everything else there was no cell service in the apartment, we could not call or text from the inside. We decided not to stay at the apartment st all.

This apartment is decent if you are not planning on staying for an extended amount of time, if you're planning on eating out for every meal and/or if you aren't planning on spending a lot of time in the apartment. My boyfriend and I have stayed in multiple VRBO's around Savannah's Historic District and this is by far the worst one. The only thing we somewhat enjoyed was the location. For starters, the kitchen was not stocked with anything besides a couple sets of silverware and wine glasses. We were provided with a tiny saucepan, a fry pan and one dirty baking sheet. No measuring cups, strainer, heating pads, spatulas, mixing bowls or anything a basic kitchen should have. Also, the oven and stove barely work. The tap water also made my boyfriend and I sick, so bring a case of bottled water. You could hear everything from the floor above, the ceiling was poorly insulated. There was also barely any lighting in the whole apartment besides maybe 1 or 2 track lights. The furniture was dirty and had holes in it. There was also a faulty lock on the door so we were locked out of the apartment numerous times. Also if you enjoy doing your own dishes and taking out the trash (with your OWN trash bags because there weren't any in the apartment), this may be the place for you. Most VRBOs have these things included in your payment. But I guess this one doesn't. We stayed in this apartment over Christmas and must have accidentally gotten a piece of scotch tape on the table (from opening gifts) to which my boyfriend received a rude call from the property manager about- as well as a stain on the couch we got blamed for even though we didn't sit on the couches because they were dirty? Don't put a table that you care about in an apartment that complete strangers are going to live in and use if you're going to get upset about it. Accidents happen.

The apartment was a nice apartment but it takes getting use to having very few windows. Fortunately, it is very easy to get out and enjoy the sites of Forsythe Park and the rest of Savannah.

Great Location in Savannah!

This place was really great for my fiance and Is getaway to Savannah. It was in a perfect location within a block to Forsyth Park and about a 25 min walk to the river. Easy check in and out processes. We would definitely come back!

I would not recommend

Unfortunately, I found cockroaches or palmetto bugs in the apartment during my stay. One of them was alive on the kitchen counter, and I had to throw away some food as a result. I immediately contacted the host and shared photos, expecting support or at least concern. However, his response was dismissive and even sarcastic, saying it wasn't a big deal because the city has many palmetto bugs, and that he couldn’t do anything about it. I’ve attached photos, including screenshots of our conversation, to show the lack of professionalism and care. I would not recommend this place.

Amazing location

Valentines Weekend getaway

The apartment was exactly as described. It has a great location where we could easily walk to many places. We loved walking through Forsyth Park which was a block away. Parking on the street was easy (and free) since it was the weekend. It was a short drive or Lyft to River Street as well. Overall, an excellent stay. The host left very good directions for everything within the apartment and threw in suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location. Perfect size for couple.

We had a great stay. The location is perfect. We walked a lot so didn’t rent a car. This apartment is garden level so not a lot of natural sunlight. We weren’t there that much so it wasn’t a big deal. The place was clean and had what we needed. Might be a little tight for 4 but again if you are just there to sleep not a big deal. Gave a few suggestions to property management but nothing that would change my review. Great place overall.

Over all the experience was good. I enjoyed the old feel of the place. A few suggestions though that would have made it better. It was very dark. More lighting would have been appreciated. There was a lamp on the dresser but no place to plug it in and the livingroom had one outlet that did not work so one of the lamps was unusable. There was a note asking us to use coasters for drinks but none were provided. We used plates instead.The bed was very comfy but the pillows were very flat. Also non of the candles of the fireplace mantles ever went on, no biggie but it would have added to the atmosphere. We found a woman's sandals behind the bedroom door and also some debris under the bed while looking for my sock. The rest of the place though seemed very clean
