Historic Townhouse in Incredible Location w/ Parking by Lucky Savannah

Located on one of Savannah's oldest streets, lined up amongst expansive, rich, historic mansions this bright and stately townhouse is able to accommodate up to six Lucky guests.

The second level entrance brings you into the parlor level, which has a multitude of rich wood architectural details, including original hardwood floors, floor to ceiling windows, and ornate decorative fireplaces. On this floor you’ll find the main gathering room, with a large flatscreen television, which is open to the formal dining room, ideal for entertaining. At the back of the home, you'll find the fully renovated kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and fully equipped with everything needed to prepare home-cooked meals.

Upstairs you’ll find the two bedrooms and a private sitting deck that overlooks the treelined courtyard. The primary suite is furnished with a tasteful mix of antique furniture, a four post king-size bed, and luxurious ensuite bath with a marble tiled shower and large soaking tub. The second bedroom also features a king size bed, with an ample amount of space to store all of your belongings. Just off of the hall, the full bathroom has a tub/shower combo, and plenty of counter space to get ready for an evening out.

This home is ideally located within a short walk to many of Savannah’s historic points-of-interest and incredible selection of dining options. You’ll be well situated to explore Savannah’s rich history with the Owens Thomas House and the Davenport House Museum both just a block away.

What is parking like for this home?
This unit has one private parking space behind the home. All additional parking can be found on-street, and is metered which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm. You have the option of feeding the meter, parking in a nearby parking garage, or buying a parking pass from the Savannah Visitor Center. All of that information is included in our confirmation email sent upon booking.

*Our cherished home, Rue Townhouse, is located next to a building that is currently undergoing construction. While this may cause some noise during weekday business hours, we want to assure you that Rue Garden itself remains a peaceful and charming retreat in the historic district.*

Convenient, family friendly, adorably historic

This was the perfect spot for my family of four with 2 under 5 years old. Conveniently located between Forsyth Park and the river. You can basically park in the off street parking and walk everywhere. Highly recommend staying here!

We loved our stay. Staying in the Historic District we found worked out so well. It was so easy to walk to all the different tours, restaurants, and activities. Our VRBO Townhouse was clean, comfortable, and had a nice historical ambiance.

The location was perfect! We were able to walk and see the sites of downtown Savannah without worrying about driving and parking. Lots of fabulous restaurants and access to various tours. House had what we needed, and property management responsive to our needs.

Excellent location

Location is excellent for historical Savannah. Walking distance to all major interests. Beautiful views of the cemetary at night. However, the street is very noisy and busy. We were not aware of construction right next door which was very noisy even on Saturday.

Step Back in Time

This townhouse was a perfect place to enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of Savannah. We were very impressed with the preservation of the original woodwork and furnishings. The bedrooms were very comfortable . The location was perfect for walking to River Street and nearby restaurants.

Truly historical!

This is a beautifully renovated property in a great location. The on site parking is a definite plus. Steps and bed height were difficult for the older members of our family, but manageable with the purchase of a foot stool!

We stayed in this beautiful home with another couple and were so pleased with how comfortable it was even with the beautiful chandeliers and antique furniture. It fit the setting of the old south but with the comforts of a modern home. It was a lovely experience.

Winter Escape

The Rue Townhome was everything I thought it should be. Location and walkability excellent. Period time of home and furnishings were awesome. Be advised the home sits on Oglethorpe Ave and there was moderate traffic. Some siren noises. The homes appliances are up to date and the beds are comfortable. You can control the thermostat to your taste. Has washer and dryer..

Great location!!

My sisters and our mom stayed at this location for a girls weekend. Perfect location, close to everything, beautiful house, and well stocked. We had a great stay in this historic home and highly recommend. My only suggestion is there be a clearer address marked on E. York to indicate the proper address. Nothing really marked at the moment so we just looked for stairs and a lockbox and hoped for the best. It could be as simple as marking the trashcan. But once we found it, we had no issues at all. Definitely look forward to renting here again.

It was good! It definitely had the feel of staying in historic downtown. We wish they had some info about the history of the place on hand. All appliances and fixtures worked well. The place just needs some TLC. Exterior doors reinforced. Needs walls repaired and worn furnishings repaired. The bathrooms need new shower heads and the glass enclosure for the one shower needs to be reinstalled the correct way. Shower door drags on tile. It would have been nice to know about construction taking place on both sides of us during booking. All in all, we were pleased but have seen great places like this go downhill fast from lack of tender loving care.

Comfortable old house though stairs may be problematic for elderly. Well located and parking space available in back was critical. Some minor repairs need attention ( duck tape holding the shower head in place, water leaking from shower likely needing a fresh caulking, etc.) However, on the downside during our stay, an apartment building was being constructed immediately next door so cranes and hammering beams began at 7:00AM, diesel fumes from equipment permeated the house and men working could look right into the back upstairs bathroom limiting privacy significantly. I know this won’t go on forever but it was extremely bothersome during our stay!

Fantastic location

We were in town to visit our SCAD student. This was a great location- very walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. Great coffee shop just down the lane- Cup to Cup. The property was clean and comfortable. Be AWARE- there is construction going on directly next door. They begin work at 7am and work until 7pm or later, Monday-Saturday. Condominiums being built from the ground up so this will be going on for many months to come. We were not told this was going on and it would have influenced my choice of properties. I was looking forward to sitting on the porch reading, etc. This was not possible. Host company was great at communication and offered a late check out which was appreciated but there should be some notice of the ongoing noise and activity.

Very well appointed vacation home, in a very convenient spot. Most of the major attractions and restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. The house was very clean and the bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. Nice dining room for people to gather together. Parking was convenient with one free spot in the back and on street overnight parking is free after 8 p.m. . Best part was the price. As we stayed on Memorial Day weekend, hotel prices were very high. With three couples sharing the house, we saved hundreds of dollars. Great deal. We , however, wouldn’t recommend this house if any of the parties staying have trouble climbing stairs. Lots of steps getting into the house and lots getting up to the bedrooms. Besides that, the place was wonderful.

It was not a problem due to the construction stage and enjoyed the hard working crew installing tons of rebar in the bottom floor. Take your own toilet paper!

Christmas in Savannah Tradition

The location could not be better. We were able to walk to just about everywhere we went. The provided parking is very convenient. We would definitely return, however there are some issues with the house that need to be addressed. The shower in the bath above the living room does not turn on and that bedroom has one roller shade that is ripped and one that cannot be pulled up. The bath over the kitchen has a heavy glass shower door that is about ready to come off the hinges and could definitely be a liability. Also, the sink drains in that bath are clogged. These are maintenance issues that should be reported by housekeeping but have somehow been overlooked. The house is wonderful and we will return but our stay would have been made more comfortable if these repair issues were addressed.
