The public areas of this hotel are high end, top notch. The staff is amazing. Warm, welcoming and professional. Housekeeping was attentive. The room was a little less than we expected. Small, basic, bland. Not at the level we expected based on the public area. The bed was quite comfortable, however. Location is great.

I recently stayed at the DeSoto Savannah, and unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, both rooms on my reservation weren't ready, despite being past the check-in time. To add to the frustration, I was charged double for rooms I had already paid for. While the lobby and bar area exuded charm and elegance, the ambiance drastically declined once on the room floors. Poor lighting made navigation challenging, and the rooms themselves were severely outdated and unclean, a far cry from the enticing images advertised online. The lack of cleanliness was appalling; the floors were grimy, the toilet bore unsightly skid marks, and the discovery of a bug wrapped in a supposedly clean washcloth was deeply unsettling. Upon bringing these concerns to the attention of the front desk, their response was merely an apology and a replacement of towels, which hardly addressed the issue. Moreover, the housekeeping service during our stay was subpar, barely meeting the minimum standards of cleanliness expected in a hotel of this caliber. Overall, my stay merits a disappointing 4/10 rating. The promising facade of the lobby and bar failed to mask the glaring shortcomings of the rooms and service, leading to a profoundly unsatisfactory experience.

A group of three of us girls stayed for 3 nights for our 40th Birthday celebration. Upon arrival, the key card reader on our door didn't work. We were locked out for 2 hours while a 24 hour repair man tried to replace the battery. They weren't able to repair the battery, and we were forced to move rooms at 9:30 at night, and downgrade to a room without a balcony since there were no more vacancies with a balcony. We received no apologies for the inconvenience whatsoever, until we complained about it to another member of the front desk staff at checkout. I was told there was nothing they could do about a refund unless I sent an email to hotel management about our troubles and for the downgrade of our room. They are currently working with Expedia to try and help us get a refund. This hotel is rich in history and very beautiful, and we were sad to receive such poor customer service.

Very clean, safe and comfortable. Valet staff were super friendly and helpful. Check in was seamless and front desk staff courteous and informative. No in room dining available and housekeeping aggressively began knocking on ourbdoor repeatedly starting at 930 on check out day. . They seemed put out that we were still gathering pur things with over an hour before checkout. Loved the corner room with a balcony.

I picked this hotel because of the location and from the reviews/pictures it looked like everything we wanted. The pool bar/restaurant wasn’t open the entire time we were there, the gym was small and didn’t have anything to clean the machines with, the desk staff at night told me there was an option for late checkout then in the morning the staff member told me rudely I needed to pay him for an extra 2 hours! The hotel bar was barely open In the daytime, us and a few other guests had to go next door to a restaurant to get to go drinks to have around the pool. The location was great for walking everywhere.

The property is located in a good area where you find yourself close to parks and a 15-20 minute walk to the river. The hotel is DIRTY. My hotel room and hair in it and the bathroom’s floor was filled with what seemed to be baby powder. Also, the hotel’s restrooms are in terrible shape; they were dirty and missing soap. Out of the 7 stalls, I could not find a clean working one. I had to go to a restaurant across the street. I would NOT returns to this hotel or, advise anyone else to stay here.

The hotel's location is quite convenient, as it takes only 15 minutes to walk to the river. The neighborhood is charming and there are some nice coffee shops and good restaurants around. However, the hotel doesn't quite meet the expectations of Southern hospitality. The front desk staff are not very friendly or accommodating and the rooms are quite old. The shower is also quite noisy and late check-out is not an option. Additionally, parking is quite expensive. It might be better to stay at a different hotel in the same neighborhood.

Complaisant valet attendees, receptionists, and housekeepers; every staff interaction felt warm hearted and good-natured. The front desk was distinctly attentive and noticed we were in a hurry to a wedding since we were checking in with tuxedos in hand as others were heading to the event fully dressed. They made the process swift as possible and we were able to arrive to the ceremony on time! The Desoto is my new home for when I visit Savannah, GA.

lobby and restaurant were beautyful rooms needed a little up dating. pillows were awful way to big and to thick with stuffing made them feel hard . shower in bathroom a little unsafe all ceramic tile very slippery unsafe no matter what the age.

We enjoyed the location of the Desoto but we were disappointed that the pool bar area was not open. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.
