The Space: This home was built at the turn of the century and combined the popular federal design with aspects of antebellum and colonial styles. Beautifully kept through the years, the home still features original wood flooring, an original fireplace, and original hand-crafted crown modeling. Built on the grounds of the original Trustees’ Garden, this historic area of Savannah has played a significant role in Savannah’s history. First as an experimental garden, then as various military forts and Ironworks, and now as an incredible combination of beautiful venues. You are genuinely staying atop Savannah’s history with a stay at The Retreat on Broad. The terrace features comfortable outdoor seating for four, while the handcrafted dining table provides seating for six. The apartment's two ensuites are located at opposite ends of the living room. The first ensuite provides a king mattress with crisp linens, plush pillows, relaxing tones of blue and white, and a smart TV. Four oversized windows provide ample natural light, and the original heart pine floors add a warm touch to the room. Directly off the suite is your private bathroom with a pedestal sink and low-entry shower wrapped in white subway tile. The second ensuite is outfitted with a new queen mattress and fresh white linens. The room has ample closet space, a smart TV, and a dedicated workspace ideal for working remotely. In the corner of the room, enter the suite's private bathroom with a pedestal sink and shower/tub combination. All bathrooms are supplied with the essentials, including toilet paper, towels, shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer. Are you traveling in a slightly larger group? My wife and I spent 2 weeks here and loved it! The unit was clean and the furnishings were really nice. Probably one of the most comfortable VBRO units we have ever stayed in. Will be back for sure!
Property was lovely and met our needs. Location was great. We parked our car at the property and could walk everywhere. Home was nice and clean and had all the amenities that we needed. We would recommend this lovely property.
We were in a quiet part of town but could walk to everything we wanted to see. It was also a very comfortable place if you just wanted to lounge around and take it easy.
Apartment was in a prime location, close to river street and downtown. Kitchen was completely stocked with everything you could think of. The PM communicated with me every step of the way to make our stay and I greatly appreciated that.
2 couples - first time in Savannah and it was wonderful. This rental was perfect for our few days visiting. It was in a perfect location and was super spacious for the four of us. Beautifully appointed in a great older building that's been lovingly restored. Communication with the host was great as well.
This home is wonderful! It’s even better than the pictures reveal. Perfect location to the river and many Savannah spots. Super clean with essential amenities. Host was prompt with communication throughout the stay. Would highly recommend!
The apartment was perfect. It felt quintessential Savannah! Walking distance to almost everything. We caught a parade outside our door! Perfect location for feeling the Savannah vibe!
This property was beautiful, actually better than the photos. The beds were very comfortable, there were plenty of towels and paper towels. The owners thought of everything including coffee pot that uses grounds or pods. Location was very walkable and close to Bay Street. We enjoyed the large covered patio also. I highly recommend!
This was a birthday trip. The last one in our group (friends since elementary school) to turn 70. We loved it! The place is decorated beautifully and is stocked with everything you need. It is very quiet and there is an excellent restaurant we ate at on the corner. Will definitely book it again the next time we travel there.
A wonderful, quaint house with so much character. The house was so well furnished with coffee, creamers, etc we didn’t have to go to the store for the essentials!!
Savannah is such an interesting town with so much history to take in!! We will definitely stay there again for our next Savannah trip!
The rental was really lovely. Great location. Perfect for 2 couples. Parking was no problem, just have to make sure you renew your spot every day. Also move car to other side of street for Tuesday street sweeping.
Savannah was a lovely friendly city!
The property is historic with modern amenities. We appreciate the owners kept the charm of an antique property and updated it with classic styling and decor.
The rooms were very comfortable, well appointed, and we are happy to have booked here and not a hotel.
We loved the proximity to so many of Savannah’s attractions and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again and are already talking about our next visit here.
From check in to check out it was amazing. The best experience with a host and house. We enjoyed how you could walk to all the restaurants and bars and the trolly being right outside the house! Parking was no issue at all and not expensive. House was tidy and charming. Overall 10/10!!!
Great apartment. Very clean and convenient location to walk to the historic section of town. Loved the high ceilings and big windows. Appreciated that the hosts provided shampoo, dish and laundry detergent, etc. Only downside was the occasional city noises (street sweeping, etc) that accompany city living (earplugs provided by hosts :-))
The location was perfect, easy to walk to everything but quiet enough to relax. The unit was in an old building but that just added to the charm. We had so much room, loved that there was 2 en suites separated by the living area. We were able to enjoy time on the porch also which was refreshing. Parking was never an issue, always parked out front. There was nothing more we could of asked for.
The Retreat couldn’t have been lovelier!
Big and spacious, comfortable beds, en suite in each bath, made everything so much easier. The kitchen had everything you could ask for, the dining room table was lovely and made for a great place to get together for breakfast and dinner. But the outdoor terrace was our favorite, despite the heat. I would highly recommend this for any family up to 6 people. The location was perfect to go to Foresth park, River street/front and Congress for great restaurants and nightlife as well as the perfect spot to enter the pathway to Tybee Island. Thank you, our family had a great time!
This property is spacious, clean, & meticulously decorated. As lovely as the photos are, they don’t do the home justice.
The location is prime & in walking distance to essentially everything of note. The only time we drove was to visit Bonaventure Cemetery which is about 3miles away.
The owners were extremely helpful & quick to reply. They also thoughtfully equipped the home stylishly & comfortably.
Parking is metered and easily paid for with the Park Savannah app. Plan on $1.00/hour or $12.00/day.
My husband and I shared the space with my sister and her husband for 1 week. Bed w/bath on each end of the living space was perfect and very comfortable. The only drawback was noise and parking. There's no off-street parking. Recommend purchasing parking passes for each day of your stay or you would have to keep up with the parking meters. E Broad being somewhat of a main road, and restaurant next door with dumpsters behind the house gave way to cars/trucks during the early morning hours; along with loud metal banging sounds from the dumpsters. The host was kind to leave ear plugs in both bedrooms. This space is clean and well equipped for any stay. The space is highly recommended.
This place is super comfortable. A lot of room to spread out. Couches are comfortable, beds are comfortable and the kitchen is perfectly outfitted. We cooked one meal each day and had all we needed. We walked Savannah from the house. Cross the street and just keep walking. Parking was easy to find. The pirate restaurant next door is really good. There is a trolly that stops right at the pirate restaurant you can jump on for free and jump off in the historic district.
We would love to stay here again.
FYI: Because I can not read signs I received a ticket due to parking in a spot where the street cleaner comes by at 2am. The parking is labeled super well....I just ignored it. Others did too, hence the warning to read the sign.
