The Park suite is a perfect romantic destination, ideal for a honeymoon or romantic anniversary weekend. . The queen size bed boasts an ultra comfortable mattress with host supplied linens. The living area offers a comfortable sofa, fireplace, a 40' flat screen TV, cable and nice sitting area. Pets are allowed with an additional fee, guests need to signify upon requesting booking that you will be bringing a pet.

The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, microwave and granite countertops. Kitchen is fully equipped with dinnerware, cooking utensils, wine glasses and champagne flutes. Complimentary coffee to get you started is provided.

Located in one of the most prestigious homes in the landmark historic district directly on Forsyth Park.


Built in 1870 for the city Treasurer John Williamson, the home is located directly on Forsyth Park next door to the Magnolia Hall Inn owned by the Savannah College of Art and Design and only steps away from the famed Forsyth Park fountain. Many shops, restaurants and cultural destinations are a short walk away. This is the ideal location for your visit to Savannah.

  • Designed by John S. Norris for General Hugh Weedon Mercer, construction of the house began in 1860. Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. We rented this apartment for a short stay in Savannah. We both loved the location across from Forsyth Park as well as the charm of the unit and the area. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Excellent Location

We really enjoyed our stay. The Park Suite at Whitaker Mansion was in the best location. It is in a quiet neighborhood, just across the street from the beautiful Forsyth Park. The Park Suite is within walking distance of the historic district. It was the perfect place for us to unwind from a busy day exploring the museums and homes of the historic district. Plus, we could burn off some calories from the delicious meals at local restaurants.

The location is wonderful. Forsyth Park is right across the street. We couldn't walk much, but if you can everything is easily accessed. Deb was great to work with. She answered all my questions in record time.

THE perfect locale! Historic District on Forsyth Park

Location is right on Whitaker which you can walk across the street to the park and also straight shot walking to River District. Kitchen modern, bath smaller, living area furnishings are simple and adequate. Bedroom is top notch in the mattress and bedding department. Walking distance to Kroger. Rate is reasonable for the location. It perfectly met our needs. Owner very responsive to any questions.

Favorite spot in Savannah

We loved the location of this cute little apartment. The cleanliness was a little subpar, just in need of a thorough cleaning- dusty decorations, baseboards, dirty door in bathroom, stains on couch. Could use some lighting updates as well, it’s pretty dimly lit. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Weekend Getaway

This VRBO was perfect for a weekend getaway. The accommodations were clean and within walking distance of almost all attractions. We particularly enjoyed being directly across the street from Forsyth Park. Our host was a great communicator and left us a list of recommended places to visit/eat. We would definitely consider staying at this location the next time we are in town!

Savannah visit

Really enjoyed our stay in Savannah. Nice quiet location across from Forsyth Park. Easy to get to other areas in the historic district. Outside area was nice. Turned on dehumidifier right away which helped keep humidity down.

This is such a great location in a charming area next to one of the main squares in Savannah. It was great to be able to walk to restaurants and city sites all weekend! The condo was spacious and had all the amenities. The property manager was very responsive and helpful.

Fantastic “antique” vibe. Could not ask for a better location. Comfy bed. Handy kitchen. Only four stars because it needs a working dehumidifier and the bathroom could use paint top to bottom.

This location is the definition of perfection. Conveniently located near everything I wanted to do. Great communication with property manager and easy access. Dog friendly is important. My dog and I want to come back. The super cool atmosphere of this neighborhood is unbelievable.

Perfect in every way

Wonderful apartment - has everything you need. Terrific location - we walked to everywhere we wanted to go. Lovely neighborhood. No challenges finding parking - there’s even an EV charger at Forsyth Park (slow but free). Highly recommend!

Cozy getaway

We truly enjoyed our stay. This location may be the closest available to the Forsyth Park fountain in a very safe and beautiful area. The apartment was well-apportioned and very comfortable for two, and we never had a problem finding parking. The two minor complaints are the internet was excruciatingly slow and the dehumidifier and AC units were quite loud (the small space amplifies the sound). A very charming place to stay in Savannah!

WARNING STAY AWAY FROM THIS RENTAL

Filthy place! Bed sagged in the middle! 2 people lay shoulder to shoulder in the bed almost on top of each other! Very BIG ROACHES! Not really a safe neighborhood, you have to park on side street can not see your vehicle at all.

Taste of Savannah

Forsythe Park is truly steps away - directly across the street. We loved being able to take a very short walk into the park with our dog to enjoy a fantastic breakfast at Collins Quarter. Shops, restaurants, the squares were all so accessible. We had a family emergency that created some challenges with our schedule and our hostess was so helpful. Communication was quick and easy. Parking around the corner was easy. We loved the location and the apartment is charming. The bed was cozy, there are books and tv for down time and the bed was comfy. Bathroom is small.

Great Location and Space

This property was very well located within walking distance of a lot of sites. The space worked great for us with the kitchenette as it allowed us to prepare our own meals. The TV was limited on what was available and was told old to have WiFi for casting from a phone or computer.We also ended up having a colder weekend than expected and could not get the heater to work at all.It was not so cold that we had a problem and the basement location kept the temps reasonable but we did have to bundle up while in the room. We were ok, so we did not report it to the manager.Loved our stay and plan to return, hoping that any winter stay will have a working heater. Love Savannah and the process toBook and find the location was easier than expected for a city stay.

Quirky and Quaint

This place is really cute and very centrally located. It is about a 20 minute walk to River Street so just close enough to join the festivities but far enough away to enjoy the tranquility of Forsyth Park. It was relaxing to sit on the porch and watch people walk by in the mornings before starting the day. However, just a few things to note…when we arrived the unit was pitch black with just the TV on which I found odd. Second, the unit smelled extremely moldy and musty which was not desirable at all. We figured out it was coming from the HVAC unit and we turned it off. The HVAC unit needs to be replaced. It was filled with black dust and mildew. Thankfully the weather was cool enough so we did not need it. Third, the unit lacks light. The light bulbs are so dim. We ended up opening all the shutters to allow light in because there was never enough light. We were practically eating in the dark one night. Lastly, I wish the owners would put a little more “love” into this unit. It was so dark and dingy. They could really spruce it up with some good lighting, more modern decor and better furnishings/bedding. All in all, I would stay here again because of the location but I have seen other reviewers mentioning the same things I have and I would hope the owners take this/these reviews into consideration because the space and location are very darling.
