"The first thing to mention is that this property is on 3 floors. There are 30 very steep, very narrow, stairs between the ground floor and the top bedroom. Although it does indeed sleep 6 people, having 3 double beds, the bed in the attic room is half under the eaves of the roof and you must bend double to get in and risk knocking yourself out to get there. None of the upstairs windows open. We tried every window on the upper 2 floors and were unable to budge one. The larger of the 2 bedrooms on...

"What a gem of a find and without hesitation would return. The bus stop is literally just outside around the corner where we got the bus to Scarborough for £2 esch way. We did the pub quiz on the Wednesday night for a good cause at only £1 each to enter with a free bowl of chips and a plate of sandwiches. The pub has a great atmosphere and we eat in the pub on the evening. I had home made steak pie with yorkshire puddings to start. The bedrooms are modern and very clean with tea msking facilities...

"Great location, nice food. Restaurant closes too early (7.30 pm last orders) Bath shower needs adjustments and shelves as well. Nice staff, however too in a rush for the last guests to leave the restaurant! "

"A lovely gem of a hotel, from a different era, but in a really good way. All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, everything was spotless and looked loved. If you’re after a modern hotel, with all mod cons, then not here, but for charm, and just gentle loveliness, a great place. Minor gripes - bottle of water and shower gel / shampoo not replaced when empty. Shower one which was either boiling or ice cold on a millimetre turn. But genuinely minor & did not, in any way, dampen the stay....

"Enjoyed the spa, particularly the huge jacuzzi! Bar area was nice for a drink before going out. The only down side was that the room was very hot. There’s no way to control the heating. There’s a ceiling fan which is quite effective, but it was like an oven and windows could only open a crack to let in air. But it’s nicely situated in the cliff with great views across the sea from the front of the hotel."

"Very convenient for central Scarborough, South Bay and the Spa. Parking is a little tricky although there is a multi-storey up the road for £12 a day. The hotel itself was grand although in need of a little TLC - renovations were ongoing while we were there. The room was similar - comfortable and spacious but with a few things in need of repair."
