First stay in this hotel
The staff was friendly. The room was nice and clean. The sheets have some dark spots on the sheets and the mattress was a little dirty. Thank God no bed bugs!! No hand towels and bathroom were clean. I will come back and stay again.

We chose to stay here as the property is listed as pet friendly, the second day we were there we found out there is a 10 per animal fee. The owner/manager was rude, harassed me on several occasions and the room had a very strange odor when we arrived. We ended our stay early and slept in a tent, was better accommodations. Not to mention there was also trash around the property.

Thank you for your reponse. each pet friendly hotel has their charges per pet per night. Not to mention that you never mention that you have pet thinking it will be free and upon asking you only mention 2 dog but actually had 4 that we find out on 4th morning while you left them alone in the room and the dog walk on the hallway coming out of the room. You should be inform us if you were not satisfied with your stay but you did not mention until after we caught your 4 dogs in room alone and called you. You also did not mention had 3 kids with 2 adults in the room that make our room over crowded with 2 adults, 3 kids and 4 dogs. and with your dog barking and crying all morning our other complained as well. You did not even have any tent.

The rooms were very clean. The staff was polite and helpful. They are doing some remodeling so the breakfast area was not utilized and had some storage but nothing that took away from our stay.

The Scotland Neck Inn was adequate for our needs. We were in town for a family funeral. We were only given one bath towel and one wash cloth apiece and very tiny bars of soap for hand washing and showers. The hallway and lobby were not air conditioned and not fresh smelling. We were told the motel is in the process of upgrading which it needs.

Nice, neat and clean! The staff was extremely nice and helpful. However, the beds need to be replaced immediately! That was the worst! It was lumpy and caused my back to hurt some kinda bad!

Step Back In Time In Clean Room
A small, older, single story brick motel with just 38 carpeted rooms. Only motel/hotel in Scotland Neck, NC. Well maintained and clean. Beds were a bit uncomfortable and the only ice machine was out of order the 3 days we were there. No food other than one mostly empty vending machine. No drink machine. There were only two ADA compliant rooms - both with king bed. Had made reservation for handicap accessible room with two queen beds based on website but was told on arrival the room booked did not have an ADA compliant bathroom. Was able to get power chair through door into room but the regular toilet without grab bars necessitated changing rooms to a king to have an ADA bathroom. Older rooms had wider wooden doors that accomodated my power chair. Room was more spacious than in new hotels, providing space for power chair to move freely and turn. Oversized bed mattress had ribbing to minimize sheet slippage but also made sliding across bed somewhat difficult. Older mattress was firm and "hilly." Under window AC unit had loose cover but worked well. Outdoor pool not yet open. New owner and wife live above motel and operate facility. Front desk often unattended. New owner friendly and accomodating. Parking available in front of room. Motel was quiet and only appeared to have a few guests. Located on south end of town within 10 minutes of Sylvan Heights Bird Park. Food Lion nearby. Limited selection of restuarants in small town. Italian restaurant highly recommended.

Usual amenities for a better than average hotel we’re missing. *Our room had no hand towels and only slivers of packaged soap for showering that were useless. *The shower should have a grab bar for getting in and out of the tub and shower * the lobby had a pungent odor from manager cooking * the room had a kitchenette but no dishes or flatware, no cups or glasses, no dish detergent. They were obviously in the process of renovating. Mattresses were out of the way in what would be the lobby area/ eating area if meals were served. Also although there were stovetops but no pots or pans or dishes. However, the frig was working and we used it for drinks we bought off sight. Despite this, the place was clean and staff friendly and courteous. For our needs there was no real impact as we were therefor a function in the town and most of the time were not in the Inn. May wait until spring and make a trip back as there is a bird park there even though we only live about 1 1/2 hrs away we might stay again.
