Meadow home with private hot tub near Black Point Beach

  • Summary:

This Sea Ranch home frames the Pacific like a painting -- and the view changes by the hour. Soak in the hot tub as the sun dips below the Trees. Curl up by the fireplace as fog rolls in off the Pacific. Room for 6 in this 3-bedroom home. Just a 8-minute walk to Black Point trails. The Sonoma Coast's best-kept secret is waiting for you. The bluff trail starts steps from the door, winding along the cliffs above crashing whitecaps.

    The Space:

Tucked away in a meadow and surrounded by trees, this home provides a comfortable haven with pockets of the ocean through the forest. You'll feel at peace surrounded by trees, with the occasional coastal breeze floating in when you're relaxing in the private hot tub on the deck. It's perfect for stargazing, and beach towels are provided so you can enjoy a soak whenever you like. If you feel a little chilly, just head inside and relax in front of the gas fireplace or wood stove. Prepare yourself a drink at the wet bar and relax in the connected common area. Two levels of decks will be there when you're ready to take in more fresh air. Two of the bedrooms have patio entrances, perfect for guests who want to feel connected to everything. This home brings the best of the ocean and the forest together for guests to enjoy!

The area is full of beaches for guests to enjoy hiking, looking for shells, and many other beach activities - Gualala Point Regional Park is one example, and it's just over six miles by car. Book a tour with Unbeaten Path Hiking Tours to learn more about the beauty of the local area. The Sea Ranch Chapel, a interfaith chapel designed using local materials, is only three miles away. When you're ready for some libations, Annapolis Winery (just over eight miles from the home) offers wine tasting in a setting.

    KITCHEN & DINING

    Getting Around:

Sea Ranch is located on the Sonoma Coast, approximately 2.5 hours north of San Francisco via Highway 101 to Highway 1. The closest airport is Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, about 1.5 hours east. A car is essential for exploring the area. The scenic drive along Highway 1 is part of the experience.

    Other Things to Note:

A car is necessary to best enjoy this home

*The WiFi can be slower in inclement weather

A sofabed in the living room provides an extra sleeping space

*Golf, the shared pool, volleyball, playgrounds, tennis courts, etc. are not open to guests at this time. The trails and beaches are open

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.

Keep your eyes on the horizon from December to April -- gray whales migrate just offshore, and this property has a front-row seat. Visit in spring and the meadows explode with wildflowers. April through June is peak bloom season along the Sonoma Coast. The warmest months are June through September. Expect coastal fog most mornings that gives way to sunny afternoons.

Great house. New. Great layout. Loved the huge spa. Warm water didn't work one day but they were quick to fix. The driveway up to the house can be a little sketchy when it is raining as it is a first path and very steep. Loved the fireplace. Loved the area. Will be back

Peaceful home in amazing surroundings!

From our arrival, we were already impressed with the location. The driveway leads up to a beautiful house nestled in the forest, but with a view of the ocean framed by redwoods - best enjoyed from the jacuzzi on the terrace. The interior feels intimate but has loads of space to lounge, a cozy fireplace, all the necessary appliances for cooking and a nice setup for late night movies. The trailheads are just down the road, and we were provided guest passes to access to the nearby Sea Ranch swimming pools. What an amazing stay!

Best of Both Worlds

It’s incredible to spend the day on the open bluffs of the coast and end your day surrounded by redwoods. It’s like two vacations in one! The home was very clean and well stocked. It feels like a real home (opposed to a rental). The furniture is comfortable and the art is interesting. Check in and out was a breeze. You do have to drive to Gualala to get the checkin paperwork, but it’s a beautiful drive and there’s a great spot for crab and tacos right next door. Totally worth it! The view from the hot tub is the icing on the cake.

Restful retreat with friends

A lovely and serene retreat for our knitting group of six. We especially enjoyed the multiple sitting/lounging spaces, the beautiful forest views, the well stocked kitchen, and the warm and comfortable atmosphere. Other comments sum up the little quirks of the property, so we knew what to expect when booking. Items to keep in mind: 1) the oven is smaller than standard size. It was fine for our needs, but I understand why another commenter who was trying to cook a Thanksgiving dinner had some trouble. 2) The hot tub is showing its age. It was clean, but some jet controls were broken/missing, and it was very difficult to get warmer than 100 degrees. It was still pleasant and enjoyable for our group and the view of the redwoods more than makes up for the water temp. 3) As with all places managed by Vacasa, you can expect the bare minimum when it comes to toiletries and pantry staples. If in doubt, bring your own. That being said, the kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need in terms of dishes, cookware & bakeware to prep your meals. 4) I wish we hadn’t been required to drive into Gualala to pick up parking passes, but I was glad that I knew I would have to before I booked the place. It would have been an unwelcome surprise to find out about it upon arrival. We are glad we stayed at Seatrees!

Lovely home in a great location

We had a lovely holiday weekend in this lovely home. There is lots of space, with multiple areas for people to hang out. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking gear, as well as common spices and herbs a guest might have forgotten. Despite other comments, we found more than enough paper products for our three day weekend. The setting is lovely, with a great deck that looks out towards the ocean from the trees. You almost feel you are in a treehouse. Some suggestions: 1) additional lighting in the TV area. It is impossible to read the device controllers or read a book. 2) When people are there more than two days, at least one extra set of towels would be good. 3) Provide info on where the sheets for the fold-out couch are located. 4) The existing kitchen towels are not particularly absorbent. Recommend a change. 5) It seems absurd, given the abundance of pots and pans, there is not a "good" pan for cooking eggs. The ones you have have grooves on them, and the eggs stick. 6) We strongly recommend that you install door stops--Amazon sells some clear plastic domes that are unobtrusive but highly effective. 7) In the instructions emphasize that when you get to the T intersection, turn right, then be ready for another quick right up a steep, dirt road. Have a bit of speed as you take that last turn up the hill. We had a lovely stay, and if we ever have this size group or slightly larger, we will definitely rebook. Thank you!

Beautiful house and views! Very well appointed, it has everything you need! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the mattresses/beds were squeaky and loud every time you moved even slightly which didnt make for the best nights sleep.

Beautiful home and location.

This home is beautiful and is very well appointed with everything needed for a wonderful stay. The house is in a wonderful, quiet forest, we enjoyed our time immensely! Beautiful views! The only reason that we don't give it 5 stars is that the beds were very loud and creaky even with the slightest movement which didn't make the best sleeping conditions. Otherwise 5/5!

Great stay

We had a lovely stay and the home is exactly as pictured (I would say the surroundings are more beautiful than the pictures show). The house is a perfect spot to unwind surrounded by trees and quiet, and the surrounding area was wonderful to explore. We hope to go back soon!

Relaxing Stay

Super clean, well stocked, beautiful forest views. Steep driveway-most aren’t paved in Sea Ranch. Super cozy and all furniture in new condition. They thought of everything to make you comfortable. Any questions we had were promptly responded to by Vacasa. Very impressed and would stay again without hesitation. Neighbors on each side and very friendly.

Relaxing getaway in the redwoods

Very tranquil and peaceful spot in the woods that was perfect for us to spend time with close friends and go for visits to the beach and forest. The hot tub was epic and the wood burning stove really makes the house cozy on the misty mornings.

Super Private and Cozy

Sea Trees is a very comfortable, cozy place to find retreat. Two couples--we loved not having to cart our luggage up stairs, there were tons of books and games, the wood-burning stove was wonderful, plenty of seating options, and the kitchen was super functional.

Redwoods in the fog and sun

Not close to beach. The weather there is not the weather at the beach. Beds need to be updated - too small and lumpy. Hikes from there were great. Star viewing!

Magical Sea Ranch Treat

This home is so cozy and versatile. With two fireplaces and living room spaces, it was perfect for my family to have space for everyone to do there own thing and also large enough spaces to come together and play board games or watch a movie. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was one of the more well stocked i've encountered in Sea Ranch rentals. The views are break taking to wake up to and the proximity the hiking trails was perfect for my two little ones. We hope to stay at Sea Trees again and again. Highly recommend!
