"This place is not good for dogs, nowhere to walk them. Roof very very low other than in the middle of the room, kept banging our heads. What carpets are there was all frayed. This place was not suitable for children as stair case all open Long dirt road to get to the bungalow with all pit holes. Only one light outside the door, torch left there was not working had to use mobile phones for light to let the dog do his business before bed. Did not wash floor as mop so dirty would have put more dirt...

"This was our first experience of using cottages.com and for our first stay Quince Cottage couldn’t have been better.Penny met us at the gate, introduced us to the cottage, gave us an invaluable brief on the surrounding area. And the homemade flapjacks were a treat!Knowing we had a nice cosy cottage to come back to at the end of our daily trips out was an absolute comfort.Thank you Penny!"

Apple Cottage - 27442

9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (17)
"Well appointed accommodation with lots to do for a few relaxing days away. Dog friendly with a lovely field for exercising. Lovely listening to all wildlife from the bedroom. The steps to the mezzanine level are very steep but did not cause us any issues. Really friendly and helpful owners who met us and gave us details of some local amenities. We plan to return!"

Castlemans Stables East

9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (12)
"A lovely cottage, beautifully decorated, we really enjoyed our stay. It's in a good location for Battle, Hastings and Rye, but the road itself is quite busy and noisy, which we could hear from the cottage. The close proximity to the other cottage means if the windows are open you can hear everything and they can hear you. We value privacy and a rural location on holiday and we didnt find this as we expected to. Thus aside, the cottage and the views over the fields were lovely. Review...

Charming barn conversion with enclosed private garden.

9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (13)
"A lovely place to stay, a good location and very peaceful. Very comfortable, well equipped and extremely clean. A nice welcome pack too - thank you. It was a good situation for exploring the area, with plenty to see and do. Due to the pandemic we didn't investigate local pubs which was a shame as they all looked inviting.
