Great views

We loved the view of Cathedral Mountain and the rest of the Sedona valley. The house is located in an area that is wonderful for star gazing at night. Great home and provided a great location for our stay.

Absolutely amazing!

This is one of the best properties we have stayed at! The views were stunning. There was ample outdoor space for hanging out, outdoor dining, and fantastic star gazing. The house was well appointed and comfortable. The owner was welcoming and gave some great recommendations for the area. Sedona itself is a very unique and beautiful destination!

Wonderful Stay

The home was lovely and met all our needs for a wonderful vacation with one minor exception; we would have preferred not to be near the adjacent, busy street. However, this would not keep us from staying there again. We very much enjoyed the stunning, "closeup" view of Cathedral Rock every evening!

Snow Birds

We were delighted with our stay at this lovely home nestled in a scenic location yet accessible to all the amenities of Sedona. There are lovely views from every window with Cathedral Rock dominating the skyline. Extensive trail systems are accessible within a short walk from the home. We have planned for and are looking forward to a return visit.

Great house and perfect location!!

We spent a week here. This is perfectly located to go to Sedona!! Our son and his girlfriend loved the access to the nearby hiking trails. The house was clean and had everything we needed for the week. The only issue we had was the WiFi would go out and we would have to downpower the router to remedy this. Would definitely come back again!! Great home Florene!!! Thanks again for letting us stay!!

What a wonderful experience. The house was lovely with everything you need. The view from the house of Cathedral rock was stunning. The picture window in the living room is placed perfectly for viewing Cathedral Rock. Would definitely stay there again. Would buy the place if we could. :) Loved the entire month's visit. Sedona is magical and soothing. Worth every penny.

The owner and property manager could not have been more helpful and friendly. We were very worried about wifi because working remotely and worked out perfectly. Views of Cathedral were so stunning the pictures didn't do it justice! Can't be captured in a photo!! Amazing quiet location. Walkable to beautiful trailheads and Crescent Moon Ranch.

Cathedral Rock and hiking

We enjoyed the property very much. Our primary reason for going to Sedona was to hike and this house was very convenient to many hiking trails on the west side of Sedona. And the view of Cathedral Rock was fantastic! The sunsets of the rock were wonderful. It was a little bit of a drive to Uptown Sedona but not bad at all. Just know that 89A can get busy at times and that will affect your travel time. But it's nothing that would stop us from staying here again.

1st time Sedona vacation

We absolutely loved our stay! Had one of our best vacations! Florene was so wonderful in directing to the things to do and wonderful places to eat. The house was very comfortable, had everything we needed. Most of all the view was gorgeous!! The pictures do not show how stunning it really is. We had a few clear nights and star gazed off the master bedroom deck. We hiked at a lot of various location then started to hike close to the house and realized we had some the best trails out the back door. We definitely plan to return and would book again. The house was spotless. The kitchen was great to cook meals, lots of counter space, and we loved having the little carport. We never turned on the TV, there's plenty to do and see.

Immaculate home, spectacular views

This immaculate home is perfectly located for hiking. It is out of town, so away from the commercial areas, but within easy walking or driving distance of at least 5 state/national trail systems. There is a perfect view of Cathedral Rock from the front porch. It is totally dark at night so that the stargazing from the deck is just wonderful. The entire area around the property is spectacular. The commercial area is a short - 7 minute? - drive away. Our host, Florene, was so very helpful - answering all my questions, making recommendations and overall making our stay easy and relaxing. My husband summarized it best when he said: "We need to keep track of what day it is so that we don't forget to leave."

Fabulous views in quiet neighborhood

Your host Florene is a gem and she will help you find all the best spots to dine and have fun! Plus her home is fabulous with all you could possibly want. The views are spectacular on the front patio and we enjoyed our dinners looking at Cathedral Rock. We spent time on the upstairs deck enjoying cool breezes. Inside was well designed and just the right space for 2 couples. Only small complaint was the propane tank was empty and though we called Chris at Foothills we weren’t able to get it replaced. But the kitchen allowed us to pivot and get our dinners prepared in tasty fashion. Thanks Florene for all your suggestions and sharing your beautiful home!

Honeymoon Perfect!

We have never been to Sedona before so we were not sure what to expect, we wanted to stay downtown, but everything was booked, and glad this worked out. First impression of place as we drove up we were in awe of the incredible views around us. The home sat far enough away from the road and provided the perfect amount of privacy while keeping the view of Cathedral Rock in plain view. The house was very clean, neat and provided all instructions in a clear place for any issues that would have occurred. The home was comfortable and provided what was needed for daily living. We had everything we needed. We loved this place as it also had a great second floor deck which was fantastic for nighttime star gazing. Nicely decorated and great access to trails, and access to to 89a. This was perfect, and we would stay here again. The owner was very quick to respond. Thank You!

This Home is a Photographer's Dream

This home is truly a photographer's dream. It is located in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Sedona, AZ, and sits directly in front of a majestic formation of red rocks known as Cathedral Rock. Every window in the front of the house has a view of this amazing formation that changes colors continuously as the sun moves across the sky. Two recliners in the living room look out a large picture window to an unobstructed view of Cathedral Rock. The home is immaculately maintained both inside and out. It is beautifully decorated with artwork everywhere you look. It is quiet and serene and feels like a little piece of Heaven on Earth. There are two large patios, one located in the front of the house and another, more private patio on the side of the house. These patios provide breath taking views of the surrounding area, including unobstructed views of Cathedral Rock. There are numerous hiking trails within minutes of the house. A short walk down the street will bring you to Crescent Moon Ranch and a beautiful trail along Oak Creek that runs all the way to Cathedral Rock. A short drive away is Red Rock State Park where you will find trails and scenery galore to enjoy and photograph. The outskirts of Sedona are less than 10 minutes away where you will find jeep tours, helicopter tours and ATV rentals. The owner and the property manager provide prompt and friendly customer service. This home will not disappoint you.

* Beautiful home with Majestic Views *

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Florene and her beautiful home. This was our first VRBO experience and we did not know what to expect! We had questions about check in and Florene was an outstanding host~ quick to respond when I texted her and was very patient with all of my questions. Florene's home is spotlessly clean, well maintained (inside and out), thoughtfully decorated and filled with amenities in case you forget something at home! The views of Cathedral Rock are spectacular whether you are drinking your morning coffee on the front porch or from her comfy living room chairs! The VRBO listing pictures do not even begin to capture the breath-taking surroundings! Her West Sedona home is perfectly located a short distance from town for shopping, restaurants and groceries, but it is also within walking distance to several scenic local trails. For example, you can walk to Crescent Moon Ranch within minutes where you can wade across Oak Creek, explore some fantastic trails, eat a picnic lunch and then hike up to Cathedral Rock. (We did this 2x!) We spent our week exploring the trails within walking distance (Scorpion and Pyramid are outstanding at sunset) and also the more popular trails that were only a short distance away by car. We explored gorgeous hikes during the day and then relaxed on the comfortable upper deck furniture for star gazing at night. The night sky is spectacular at her home! We spent hours viewing the stars and enjoyed coyotes serenading us in the distance 🏜 Our only complaint: 7 days was not long enough! So we plan on returning again!

Total and absolute perfection!

Only superlatives can properly describe this lovely, elegantly comfortable home. The owners obviously have settled for nothing less than perfection in furnishing the place, both inside and out. I had the good fortune to stay there for 5 weeks in June and July, 2016, and enjoyed every moment. My days would usually start with breakfast on the front patio, while the sun rose and the birds hopped and twittered in the hedges. Often I took a hike on one of the many trails which I could access without my needing to drive. And the hikes, just like the windows in the house and the veranda upstairs, all offered breathtaking views of magical Cathedral Rock. One of my fondest memories is of a thunderstorm over the Rock, when she was crowned in a diamond tiara of lightning. Some days I happily hung out at the house, reading in the comfortable chairs, cooking in the perfectly appointed kitchen, drinking in the light show on Cathedral Rock as the sun moved across the sky and the clouds did their constant shape-shifting dance. Such peace and tranquility! My favorite evening activity was to sit on the veranda, sip something cool and watch the colors of the Rock cycle thru a breathtaking gamut of oranges and reds. The nightly silence was only broken by the drum role of thunder or perhaps the songs of the local coyote chorus. Other days I drove into "town," or West Sedona, which offered everything that I needed-two movie theaters; two gyms; an award-winning public library which offered classes and concerts; several yoga studios, (7 Centers is my favorite); 4 grocery stores; art galleries and mystical Sedona specialty shops galore; and amenities such as a computer repair clinic and a friendly, knowledgeable mechanic. All of this was less than 10 minutes by car. No two trips were the same, set as they were against the backdrop of the ever changing light on Sedona's justly famous red rocks. An added treat was the helpfulness and easy accessibility of the management company for a few minor problem that came up. And the perfect finishing touch was the friendliness and attentiveness of Florene, the owner, who shared ideas on things to do that were off the beaten path and regaled me with stories of native American traditions relevant to the house and area. All in all, I felt that I was staying in the home of a kind, generous friend; I hope to return to 25 Zane Gray Lane for many years to come.

Over 10 years of stays at this excellent rental

My wife and I have stayed at this rental once or twice a year for over ten years. We always stay for at least a month and sometimes two months. Are we pleased? Of course. Therefore we wondered about a negative review that didn't seem like the place we stay at. We find the house a superb value and location. It is out of town- quiet, very pleasant, with wonderful views of Cathedral and Pyramid. It is very easy to get to most locations like uptown and the major shopping along route 89A. We start each day on the front patio, the deck upstairs or in the dining room. All three locations have wonderful views of Cathedral and the deck provides views of both Cathedral and Pyramid. How nice is that! As for noise--it is mainly coyotes at night and we like that. Very little traffic. The only aircraft we see - and can't hear- are the helicopters that circle Cathedral now and then. And we often see hot air balloons. The home is well-maintained and problems are addressed by the owner without delay. The two beds are queen- sized and very comfortable. We normally spend the day hiking or seeing some attractions and like to get home around 3pm - to enjoy the house and its setting. We especially like that there are several trails you can take from the house- no need to take the car for these. We have hiked these trails many times and have never tired of them. It is the sheer beauty of Sedona without taking the car right at home. Try sitting later in the day on the deck and watch the changing look and beauty of Cathedral as the sun recedes. The TV is just fine for the room size. The owner is just a call away and always has addressed problems or questions as soon as possible. As for night life--we enjoy nature ( why are you coming here anyway?) but in the month or two that we are here we enjoy the local improvisational group, a great venue for music in Cottonwood, and many places that feature free music at night. We originally stayed at places that had no views and were stuck in a suburban type setting. Not why we come here. Then we saw this reasonably priced home, the views, the furnishings- and just by coincidence met the owner- and that sewed it up for us. Having been landlords in the past we knew how important it is to rent from a good one--and this owner cares about her home and the people who rent it. We only have one reservation about writing this review-- more people wanting to stay there. We love Sedona. And we appreciate this home and its owner.

Great week in Sedona Home

We absolutely loved everything about this home. My 2 daughters and I came to hike the gorgeous mountains and loved returning to this fabulous home everyday. The location was quiet with breath taking views almost out of every single window. We hit some very cold weather the week we were there so we did not get to spend as much time as I had hoped sitting on the wonderful deck sipping coffee in the morning or wine in the evening taking in the gorgeous views. However, sitting in the amazingly comfortable lazyboy chair staring out the living room window was almost as perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. I hope we will be able to return soon. Thank you.

Hikers' Paradise

If one of your primary motivations for your Sedona visit relates to hiking, look no further than this house. You will access miles of trail options by walking out your door to one of the nearby trailheads...if you can pry yourself away from the view of the sun rising over Cathedral Rock while drinking coffee every morning! We are regular visitors to Flo and Bill's home, and can't wait for our next visit. If stargazing is your hobby, this is also the perfect house. Whether from the front patio or rear elevated deck, you will enjoy your stay. The home is perfectly located and the owners are a pleasure to work with.

Wonderful place

This property has a great location, with a big terrace and several types of outdoor furniture with a view of Cathedral Rock. You may have a hard time leaving the house to go hiking or sightseeing. It's very comfortable inside too and the upstairs master bedroom with its private large balcony is charming.

This was our third stay here. We love how well located it is for hiking trails and how easy it is to get into town. We also love that it is a bit out of the way of the crowds and shops. Wonderful Location, Great House

My sister and I just returned from a four night stay and the house was perfect. Great location with two hiking trails right near the house and an amazing view from the front patio. (I think it was Cathedral Rock, just amazing to watch the light change during the day on this magnificent rock.) The house has everything you need for a relaxing vacation in Sedona. We had a great time hiking and enjoying the area. The house is so quiet at night, in a peaceful neighborhood. We would love to stay again, thank you for sharing your wonderful retreat with us!
