This hotel was fantastic. From the unique layout of separate hotel rooms, Aurora calls for guests, magnificent complimentary breakfast buffet, customer service from staff, hot tubs for each hotel house and beautiful scenery all around.

This hotel is the perfect home base for visiting all the golden circle sites and extending a bit further east on the southern coast for a day trip! The suites are very nice, and the highest level suite comes with private hot tubs on the patios. I would be remiss if didn’t mention that the breakfast is excellent as well as dinner options. And the hotel is extremely quiet late at night.

Nice room with a comfortable bed. We enjoyed using the hot tub too. The tub/shower is hard to get in and out of and the tub is super slippery, I almost fell. Definitely had one of the better breakfasts with tons of options and was delicious.

Really loved Hotel Grimsborgir! We stayed for 4 nights. The location is excellent - about an hour from Reykjavik and really easy to drive to. Lots of parking. Updated decoration throughout and very spacious rooms. Access to the hot tubs was great. The breakfast was varied and very tasty. We ate in the restaurant once and were very satisfied with the meal and with the service. Staff were very polite and knowledgeable. And they called to let us know the Northern Lights were visible!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even watch for the aurora and if it’s active will give you a wake up call. We were able to see them clearly from our patio. The room was nice and clean and had a great bathroom which was not the case at our other accommodations. The room did get warm but can open window. The breakfast was good and had a lot of options. We would stay here again.
