This legendary winery matches prestigious Barossa Valley tradition with exciting culinary innovations in a spacious tree-lined family estate.

Discover the traditions of the great Australian winery at Seppeltsfield, situated in the Barossa Valley’s high country. See grapes ripening on neatly planted vines under the dazzling Australian sunshine and learn, taste and enjoy all things related to wine at the historic estate, nicknamed “the village”.

Seppeltsfield was founded in 1851 by the Seppelt family. The winery is known worldwide for its 100-year-old single vintage wine, the Centennial Collection. Learn about this very special tawny, the lineage of which hasn’t been broken since 1878.

Try some wines at the cellar door, match canapés with vintages for a delicious experience or take a special tour to discover more about the workings of the winery and its different offerings. Tours will take you around the historic winery buildings on foot or by Segway. Visit the Centennial Cellar, where you can try the tawny from the year of your birth and taste a bit of history.

Discover Seppeltsfield’s hands-on demonstration on cooperage and see a barrel being made. Visit the JamFactory, a studio, gallery and shop showcasing arts and crafts by local artisans. Stop by the on-site workshops to chat with the artists and craftspeople.

Enjoy fine dining at Fino Restaurant or a snack at Benno’s Café. Stroll through the pretty gardens and admire the thousands of date palms that line Palm Avenue, mostly planted during the Great Depression. Walk in the shade of cork elms on the Elm Walk. The family’s mausoleum is also on site, and its architecture can be appreciated from the outside.

Seppeltsfield Winery is at the end of Seppeltsfield Road in the magnificent Eden Valley. The road winds through the Barossa Valley and meanders past over 15 further wineries and fine hotels. General tastings are free at Seppeltsfield, but specialty tours have an admission fee. The winery is open daily.
