"Great stay - clean tent, good food, fantastic staff, in the park so zebras on the doorstep! The only issues were that a) the bathrooms have no doors - which isnt good when you are 3 friends staying in 1 room - and there is a doorframe so goodness knows why there are no doors! And b) there was a grass fire which came very near the hotel and there was zero comminication about whether we were safe or not - simply saying "it will be fine" doesnt really do anything to reassure guests who arent used...

"The Malakai is essentially brand new, beautifully designed, tastefully decorated and kept in impeccable condition by the staff. I cannot say enough good things about the people that work there – led by Alex at the front desk and his team, they were very polite, overly attentive to all my needs and they provided superior service. Simply stated, there was nothing they could have done to make me more comfortable. In the evenings around dark, they secured my tent, and in the mornings, they opened...

"The staff went over and above to make this a unique experience. Our butler Ali was superb, Gideon who cleaned our room is out of this world. Folds your shirts and makes the bed twice a day. The young chef made meals that were consistently tasty. Rashid the Camp manager was a charm and excellent host. Highly recommend this place. "

"We stayed 2 nights and were treated like royalty. The staff were all nice and friendly and attentive to our every need. I would say here again and would recommend it to anyone. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Loved the monkeys in the morning."

"The location and setting is magnificent, but what made Pioneer so special is the wonderful service by all the staff working under the perfect oversight of Manager Simon. Our tent butler, Juma, was a special delight. The nightly dining under the stars was so special and the meals were excellent. "1. The local Africans that work here are great - they were amazing guys that made my brief stay here tolerable. Thank you guys - you know I appreciated all you did. 2. "Overpriced substandard facilities. Freezing cold bedroom. Ugly architecture, dark and dingy. Dirty dark and cold bathroom. Window stained with dead bugs and dust. No heaters to compensate. Very depressing. No hot water. We were forced to to ask them to boil water and put it into buckets in order to wash ourselves by using an empty margarine container. Unheard of when we have paid £900 to be in this tacky facility worthy of a YMCA student accommodation Location of the property is very bad....

"We truly had one of our best travel experiences ever. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with singing and dancing, which immediately made us feel special. The entire staff was incredibly friendly—more like family than hotel staff. The location itself is stunning, with breathtaking views of the Serengeti. The resort facilities are top-notch. The tents are beautifully decorated and furnished, offering comfort while blending perfectly with the natural surroundings. We had amazing close encounters with zebras just outside our tents, and at night, we could hear lions roaring nearby—an unforgettable and thrilling experience. Ommairi, the manager, was outstanding and ensured everything ran smoothly. Our safari guide, Steven, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and a true expert in wildlife. His open safari vehicle was especially perfect for photography, giving us clear, unobstructed views. We were sent off with more singing and dancing, which was a lovely and emotional farewell. The only thing we would recommend adding is a small air heater for the very cold nights and early mornings in July. Aside from that, everything was truly exceptional."

"The location of the hotel listed on Hotels.com is incorrect. Since there are no signs indicating the hotel’s direction from the road, it would have been impossible to find it on our own. Thankfully, the rangers escorted us, and we were able to locate it. The Wi-Fi is not working. That said, the staff is excellent—always kind and helpful. The food is delicious, and the lunch box service is especially valuable when heading out on a game drive."

"Patrick the manager at Seronera was absolutely incredible. He took care of us during our entire stay and made us feel right at home. Though our time there was very short it was truly a treasured moment and looking forward to coming back with more friends and family in the future. The lodge is convenient located just a few minutes away from the airport which was perfect since we had an early flight the next day. "
