"I would expect there to be more frequent transport available to take guests between town and hotel. Only one an hour is not enough. I would expect coffee in the room and not have to go to lobby. The staff did not help much when it looked like a storm might strand us at the hotel, I had to do all the investigating - fortunately we were able to get a ferry. It’s not a hotel for anyone wanting to be anywhere than in their room. And in the bad weather we had on our stay it felt empty and lifeless...

"Well, I've been home a few days and am still missing this beautiful home on Nantucket! House is extremely clean and comfortable (loved the mattress in master suite!). Every single thing you could think of needing (beach chairs, beach towels, ice packs, cooler, deck of cards, coffee grinder, fans, even nail polish remover!) is all there. The layout has a lot of flexibility. My family's plans changed somewhat last minute and so I wound up welcoming several small groups over the course of the week--two moms and daughters, my sons and their friends, my sister and her family--and it worked for everyone. The house is spacious (I am dreaming of a Thanksgiving there one year!) but also has enough separate spaces for guests to have their privacy. Our group took full advantage of the beautiful pool, the basketball court, the outdoor shower, the swingset. I had never stayed in Tom Nevers before but I loved the location. You are so close to beaches and also to Sconset...wound up making the short trip to Sconset Market almost daily for coffee and pastries (the blueberry muffins are famous but actually it was the cinnamon buns I can't stop thinking about!). Millie's at the rotary was a great surprise, too, I hadn't realized there was another Millie's so close! Perfect for takeout or quick meals with small kids. Finally, Julia and Jameson were top notch hosts from Day 1 of planning to the final day. There were helpful and kind. What a beautiful home, I hope to be back one summer soon!"

"We had an amazing stay in Tom Nevers. The house was absolutely amazing and had all the amenities needed for our family. Mark was an excellent host and was SUPER communicative from booking all the way through check-in (and also messaged us to make sure we were enjoying everything). "House and stay was excellent overall.However, two disappointments were:Beach access was not "There is access to the beach across the street that can be accessed a little ways down on Baxter."andWhen we could not figure out how to turn on the garbage disposal, we called the property manager, Carlos Portillo; they did not answer; we left a message and they never returned our call."

"The hosts were very accommodating. We had young families so we were fortunate enough to get an early check in and out. The beds were comfortable. The property looks as though it’s going through a minor renovation so it should be getting better as time develops. Hosts had a lot of beach essentials such as chairs, tent, etc"

"Helpful staff! Make sure to review the check in information, there is a specific window of time! My room and bed were absolutely cozy and cute. I’d advise against staying in a cottage close to the restaurant in the summer if you are looking for absolute quiet due to the fact some are in immediate proximity to the outdoor dining area. Overall amazing stay, especially being so close to a beach with attached dining!"

"What an amazing experience from beginning to end. This resort is definitely worth the money. Amazing views. Awesome access to a bay on one side and the ocean on the other. We practically had the beaches to ourselves. And the afternoon port wine and cheese is relaxing and a great social hour to learn more about others and all that the island has to offer. And the resort staff are all awesome. They are not only knowledgeable, but caring. They literally go out of their way to help you, regardless if they are currently busy. I hope the owners (Karps) read this review and are aware that you can have a great set of programs like they currently do, but it is their current staff and management that takes their resort "over the top." Captain Rob, the tour guide is a historian and navigator of the island. And Sean Burpee, their manager of the Wauwinet, really works with you to get the type of experience(s) you want while you are at their resort. They are nothing short of outstanding and I hope that if they ever receive offers from other programs that the owners will match those offers and increase their salaries to keep these amazing people in place so that the program does not suffer. These people know exactly how to make you have the experience of a lifetime. This place and all the staff are easily an 11/10."
