Family time in the Smokies

Great location! We were in the woods, but not too far away from everything. We even got to see a bear towards the end of the week. Jen was very helpful & quick to reply, if we had a question. Cabin was spacious & had everything we needed. We would stay here again!

Wondering getaway!

This was our 2nd time staying and love it! Very spacious and clean. Conveniently located to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains but can enjoy the city within a few minutes! Owner is great and easy to contact!

Spring away from home

Place was amazing. Very beautiful inside and out and ton of room for a large family. Place was secluded but close enough to everything. You could even hear the train from Dollywood while enjoying the rocking chairs on the porch. Owner was great to work with. Definitely will be coming back when we return to the area.

Fabulous stay at the Sunset Bear Hideaway! Host Jen was helpful, sweet, and quick to respond to messages as well as proactive in sending information about the rental. Decor was beautiful and already up for Christmas! Felt like home away from home.A great place for our teens to spread out and have space. Close to everything but far enough to feel like you are truly on vacation. The hot tub was a nice touch as well.Love the shower in the master bathroom, nice and roomy! Bed was comfortable and the curtains kept out the light so sleeping in was easy! Ceiling fan and plenty of light in the master.Upstairs is a queen bedroom with an A-frame ceiling, so if you are tall, be aware of that, but it really wasn't an issue. No ceiling fan, but a standing fan was provided. Plenty of games and a lovely book nook brought you to the twin bedroom with another standing fan. Just note there is not a door, but it is tucked away so it feels like a bedroom.All in all a very comfortable, lovely rental with plenty to do!

Perfect getaway

This was a great getaway for my kids and I! The cabin decorated for Christmas made it all the better! The cabin was extremely clean and cozy! The owner was easy to contact and helped with any questions we had before going and while there. I would definitely recommend and look forward to staying again!

Great cabin weekend!

We enjoyed our long weekend stay over Thanksgiving. The host was quick to respond and was nice enough to remove the fragrance plug-ins before we arrived (sensitivity). The cabin is in a great location and met all of our needs. We had a great trip!

Wonderful, comfortable and homey

There really are not enough positive descriptive words I can use to describe our stay at Sunset Bear Hideaway. It felt just like home. Had everything we needed and was so nice we added an extra night because we didn’t want to go home yet. Our host was wonderful and so easy to deal with on anything. Our family included 3 adults and 3 teenagers, and we all were comfortable. We will very likely stay again.

Family getaway

We had an amazing time on our mini vacation. The cabin was beautiful and very cozy. Being wheelchair accessible was very important for my mother and the accommodations made this very easy for us to help her with her needs. The hot tub was very nice. We loved the location so conveniently located to all the major attractions and restaurants. We highly recommend this location to families looking to get away and truly relax.

The property was clean and in a good location. Was far enough from town that you didn't have to mess with trafic but close enough it didn't take but a few minutes to get there. I would highly recomend this property.

Sunset Bear Stay

Far enough away from the hustle like heavy traffic and gobs of tourists but has easy access to shopping, attractions, necessities etc. My husband and I will definitely rebook for the winter. Our stay was very nice and enjoyable. The inside had a beautiful decor. The property was immaculate inside and out. I truly appreciated the thoughtfulness of provisions like games, arcade, etc. Great communication and great pricing too.

The convenient cabin in the woods

The cabin was perfect for our family of 5. The location is great to get to all of the many activities. Only warning I would give, if you are from a flat area Houston,Tx) the street to the house is a bit of steep drive up hill. We are not use to that climb. The host was very accessible. The area is very quiet and safe.

The Goldie Locks of Cabins

This was the perfect place for our family's needs. We decided on this one after viewing SO MANY different options. With a child under 2, another one over 10 & the two of us, we wanted something cozy, yet providing us all with a private space. It wasnt too big, it wasnt too small - it was just right. The hot tub & firepit area being right off the main floor bedroom allowed my husband & me the opportunity to relax once the kids were in bed without creating too much noise with doors opening & closing. It was a flawless decision. We will abaolutely be back!

Secluded Mountain Bliss but close to everything!

My wife and I met up with our long-time close friends for a weekend of fellowship & beauty at this terrific wooded get-away. It feels almost completely secluded, nestled in the woods, yet is only a tiny drive to the main roads in Pigeon Forge. We love the huge, plush sofas in the comfortable living room, sitting on the porch in the mornings and enjoying the spacious and immaculately clean hot tub. Everything was perfectly clean; even the closets. The mattresses are plush and comfortable. There was plenty of hot water, and good internet access. We found all the kitchen amenities that we needed - even an air fryer! Jennifer is the best host you could ask for. Absolutely no complaints. P.S. If you want a great restaurant in Pigeon Forge, I recommend the "Local Goat".

June vacation

Very nice, quiet, clean location. My family of 6 stayed at the Sunset Bear Hideawsy in June of 2024. Enjoyed the stay. The only issues were that both bathrooms were downstairs from the upstairs loft. My wifes parents stayed in the bottom bedroom. My mother'n-law has a bad hip and couldnt manage the stairs which is fine. My wife and I ,as well as my 2 boys,ages 21 & 19 , stayed upstairs. I have a bad knee so the stairs were unfriendly. We didnt know both bathrooms were on the first floor. Also, the loft is not good for tall people. I am 6-4, my younger son is 6-3. We were constantly hitting our heads on the V shaped ceiling. Also I banged my head on the light hanging down from the ceiling over the kitchen sink several times. Finally, the mirrors in the home were set for someone about 5-6 inches tall. No other issues. We enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Location / Exceptional Owner

Where to begin, this was truly a hidden gem of a cabin that we thoroughly enjoyed. While the stay got off to a stormy start, the Owner made the experience exceptional and ensured we were taken care of even though the issue was 100% outside of her control. For a brief summary, a nasty line of storms moved through around noon on our check in day (in between when the previous guests left and the cleaning crew arrive). In doing so a massive tree fell taking out all the utility lines and blocked the road. While the owner reported the issue very timely, the utility crew was unable to reopen the road and restore power until nearly 8PM. The owner had additional cleaning crew staff standing by and as soon as the road was open and power was on they were cleaning the property in a rush. We were finally able to access the property at 9PM and the place was spotless - you could never have told me that it only took them an hour. Sadly, the cable was never restored throughout our stay, and one caveat to this great location is on Verizon, without Wi-Fi to help boost signal, you will not have internet or cellular service. This is where the arcade located in the cabin was a godsend with the littles (and me too!!!) Pros: Above and Beyond customer service Arcade has well over 400 games Kitchen is well stocked Appliances are up to date Water pressure was great in the showers and plenty of hot water Con: Access is not "cold weather" friendly, snow or ice in your trip could be problem
