CASA PALACIO SAN JOSÉ IV — Baroque charm on the ground floor, next to the arcaded courtyard
In this noble house from the 17th century, memory, history and legend coexist in perfect harmony among garden courtyards, Roman columns, terraces with views and an infinity of architectural details that speak of the splendour of Baroque Seville.
Casa Palacio San José is one of the best examples of local palace architecture. Restored with a deep respect for its original layout, it has regained its grandeur thanks to the renowned architect Rafael Manzano, who was also responsible for interventions in the Royal Alcázares and the Alfonso XIII Hotel. The result: a building that preserves its classic soul and offers the traveller the comfort and aesthetics of the present.
The building
Access is made through the imposing gate at 7 San José Street. Behind the entrance hall and its wrought-iron gate, the first courtyard and a furnished room open up, anticipating entry to the majestic main courtyard: a porticoed space with Roman marble columns, fountains, lush vegetation, and pergolas that keep it cool throughout the year. From here, one can also access the elegant staircase and the lift that connect to the other apartments and upper terraces.
Art, architecture, and history lovers will enjoy every detail: marble floors, coffered ceilings, traditional ceramics, and an atmosphere that evokes centuries of Sevillian life.
The apartment (1 bedroom - ground floor)
San José IV is one of the five independent apartments in the palace. Located on the ground floor with direct access from the Andalusian courtyard, it offers an intimate and very special experience: opening the door and finding oneself facing the murmur of the fountain, the Roman columns, and the fresh vegetation in the heart of the house.
The apartment welcomes the guest with a bright living-dining room open to the kitchen. The marble floors, ceiling height, artistic ceramics and the beautiful gallery coffered ceiling highlight the architectural nobility of the building.
Next is the bedroom, a charming room equipped with a 180 × 180 cm bed, presided over by a delicate mural work in Sevillian ceramics. A lovely antique wooden wardrobe adds character and warmth. At the back, a complete en-suite bathroom completes the resting area.
The interior decoration combines Spanish period furniture and contemporary pieces with balance, achieving a serene, elegant, and very welcoming aesthetic.
The terraces of the Palace
On the third floor awaits the spectacular set of garden terraces and solarium, a true urban garden. An ideal space for an outdoor breakfast, an evening with friends, a sunbath with a rain shower, or simply to enjoy the unique view over the bell towers and roofs of the Jewish Quarter.
In this building, the common laundry room is also located, with a washing machine and dryer. Each apartment has drying racks stored in its kitchen.
Privileged location
Located in the heart of historic Seville, just 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Giralda, and next to the Madre de Dios convent, Casa Palacio San José allows you to enjoy the monumental, cultural and gastronomic essence of the city. A few steps away are the Murillo Gardens, the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, shops, restaurants and some of Seville's most photographed places.
The set
The property houses five independent apartments: San José I, II, III, IV and V, with a total capacity for 22 guests. There is the possibility of booking several of them, or even the entire building, for groups travelling together.
