Seward Scenic Alaska River Cottage
Trail River Gardens
30791 Seward Highway
My wife Jennifer and I chose this spot on Trail River because of its incredible beauty. Trail River Gardens is located just 20 min from Seward in the heart of the Chugach mountains on beautiful Trail River. From our deck the river is just 50 feet away with the majestic Mount Madison as a back drop. There are lakes above and below us with mountains on all sides. You can walk to hiking trails to even more mountain lakes. If you like to hike and watch birds and other wildlife, then you will love it here at Trail River gardens.

Loved staying here!!! Beautiful area and yard, love being right by the river. Close to several tourist type activities, hiking, fishing, etc. Had everything we needed and then some.
Comfortable and cozy place with everything we needed. The river view was beautiful. We saw eagles flying down the river as wewere enjoying breakfast.Great location...close to many great hikes.
We stayed two nights at the property and enjoyed it very much. The three bedrooms worked perfectly for us and our two adult children. The location was amazing - right on the Trail River. We enjoyed waking up on the river, and on the second morning, saw a bald eagle flying over the river.
The photos don’t do this justice. It’s beautifully located on the river bank. Very peaceful with a short drive to Seward town. The property was really clean and comfortable. It was lovely to light the fire pit in the evening and cook jacket potatoes and steaks…
Clean cabin with plenty of beds and bathrooms with great outdoor space along the river. The only down side was a lack of indoor living area, as the eat-in kitchen was the only indoor common space. Hosts were friendly and generous, sharing staples, offering bear spray and lots of board games & books. Location is convenient to Seward and local attractions.
This house was BETTER than we expected! So roomy and 3 bathrooms made it so enjoyable with 6 people. the views were amazing and a short distance from Seward.
Was a great stay, a great place. Peaceful, deck was wonderful to sit out and listen to the river. Hosts were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.
The quiet location with windows and a deck overlooking the river offered great views and wildlife viewing. The owner, Russ, was very hospitable and provided helpful information about the area. Definitely would stay here again.A great beginning to our Alaska experience!
Russ and Jennifer were great hosts. The property was well represented and we were very happy with the accommodations. We hope to be able to return again soon.

This cottage was a quiet and peaceful spot right next to a beautiful river. It is an easy 40 minute access to Seward. The cottage was well equipped and the owners made us feel very welcome. It was a wonderful stay for our first time in Alaska.
Beautiful property with great views! Very convenient location for travel to Seward. Each bedroom has its own bath which was perfect for three couples. Fire pit was awesome to grill steaks for our dinners! Hosts were very friendly
and accommodating! Would highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at Trail River Gardens. It has a lovely deck with a nice view, and the gardens are beautiful. Our bed was comfortable. Everything is as listed.
This property is in a great location with a beautiful view of the Trail River from the backyard. We grilled out by the river and later made s’mores in the fire pit.
Cozy home with beautiful view of the light teal blue colored river. We had everything that we needed for a two night stay. Russ is very attentive and answered any general questions that we had about Alaska. Wonderful location for us!
We so enjoyed staying in this lovely home by the river. It has a great view of the river from the picture window and glass sliding doors. Also a wonderful patio overlooking the river. We would loved to have stayed longer. We were so grateful for the laundry room as we were mid way through our Alaska trip and in need of fresh clothes. The beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful location. River right off deck is beautiful saw a moose crossing the ruver Clean but carpet in bedrooms quite old. 3 queen sz beds About 30 minutes to seward longer with road construction considering the price it was fine
We had an amazing stay here. The location is perfect. We went into Seward every day. Seward is a little crowded and touristy so it was nice to come back to this cottage and stay in the beautiful nature of Alaska. Cooper's Landing is an even shorter drive than Seward and also a great little town to see. Plenty of little hikes all over and Kenai Fjords has a beautiful hike up to Harding Icefields. The cottage itself is situated on an amazing creek
We enjoyed our stay here at this rustic cabin. The ultimate highlight was watching a bill moose walk down the river one morning! Amazing!! My son also caught trout from the river that he cooked over the fire pit, which was awesome! The cabin is more rustic which we were aware of. Knowing about the lack of stove/oven did help us prepare ahead of time, but it does limit you somewhat. Overall, we had a great stay. Thank you Jennifer and Russ!
