"Shin San is amazing. He was helpful with everything! There was also an electric bike that he let me use for free. The udon restaurant nearby is also amazing. Like a park setting. I recommend this ryokan highly. "

"The hotel itself is pretty dated and could do with a fresh coat of paint. However, the location is great and the nearby beaches beautiful. Rooms are also spacious (for J standards) and the restaurant is pretty decent and reasonably priced (sashimi set could do with a few more pieces though). Free bike rental was also very nice."

"Loved our stay at this Fav hotel. The room was modern, well appointed, spacious and had amazing laundry facilities. Very comfortable and clean, as everywhere in Japan.
Staff were attentive and friendly. Very easy check-in and check-out.
Would totally recommend."

"I ended up booking this hotel last minute after checking into a different hotel that was not clean and unsuitable to stay in. The staff were very friendly and the private room was just what I needed. I also used the laundry facilities which were clean and had three machines available. "

"Clean and comfy room, friendly staffs, nice onsen facilities, express highway bus stop is just across the street, have various direct buses to Takamatsu Train Station and ferry port, just 12-15 min away. "
"I’ve stayed at JR Clemens Hotel four times through the years, and the hotel keeps getting better! The staff spoke okay English during check-in, it was easy to buy (excellent!) breakfast for just one of our days and the room was fresh and suited our needs perfectly.
We had some kind of deluxe standard room with great beds, okay amount of space and good tea and coffee. Only downside was that we only were on the seventh floor and thus did not get one of the amazing view that you can get if you are higher up.
I would like to add that the breakfast was the best ones I have had in Japan, and that it has improved a lot during recent years. I am a vegetarian and could more than eat my fill. Especially appreciated the varm pancakes and the soft serve ice cream.
The hotel lacks any kind of onsen, which I would say is the only thing missing right now for a truly outstanding experience."
"Grand Base Takamatsu is an apartment rental more than a hotel. Although it was not what we expected it was perfect for our stay in Takamatsu. It is very well located near the main shopping arcade, has a terrific soba restaurant across the street. It has an ok kitchen and be prepared to do some shopping for breakfast. Check-in is. little odd (no front desk - follow written instructions). When the written instructions did not work, we were able to get some help on line fairly easily. If you're looking for a a "hotel" experience, this is not for you - but as a short-term apartment, it worked quite well. "
