Historic Eglin House

  • Experience Shreveport in this recently remodeled 1930's historic house designed with VRBO travelers in mind as my wife and I are a frequent VRBO guests ourselves. We focus on providing our guests with an unforgettable VRBO experience by providing high standards of comfort and cleanliness. We strongly believe that you will love our place.
    Jimmie Davis, the famous singer and songwriter and former governor of Louisiana in the 1940's and 1960's got married in this house. While the original features of the house were preserved, we brought in a touch of modern style with upgrades such as superior quality bedding with memory foam mattress and pillows, spa quality toiletries, high speed internet, a 65 inch smart TV in the living room, a 55 inch smart TV in the guest bedroom, a 50 in smart TV in the master bedroom, Amazon Alexa, Keurig coffee maker.

Beautiful Historic home

The Eglin house has been beautifully restored with modern kitchen and bathrooms without losing any of its historic charm. The big porch was wonderful for coffee and visiting in the mornings. The massage chair was such a nice treat after much walking and driving. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and nice. The location was within 10 min of downtown and easy to navigate. Great place to stay!

Shreveport Festival Family Stay

What a wonderful property! The restoration of this historic house was terrific! The restoration was done in a way to respect the homes wonderful historic bones and modernize for today! Great job! Very spacious with modern amenities! ...spoil yourself with the power chair in the sitting room...OMG. The front porch conjures up vibes of the classic southern with soft breeze and great coffee SIPPING! The family Very much enjoyed.
