The property is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of space and everything you need and more .
We loved the little touches like the Viennese biscuits and tea and coffee.
The bed was awesome so so comfortable. The rooms spotless and the courtyard so pretty.
This property is not so superbly decorated it is within easy walking distance of the mail sites.
Thoughly recommend
LIKED: location was very convenient, very clean, the old medieval vibe of it, and the drink station set up in the main hallway.
DISLIKED: although labelled as a hotel, there was no one there upon our arrival at 4:00 pm. We had to do a self-check as if an Airbnb. Other guests who arrived after us went through the same thing.
They did not share a picture of the double bed room we booked anywhere on the booking site. When we arrived, the room was completely different from what we thought we were getting. Nothing was done to remedy the situation, very disappointed.
Our bathroom smelled like urine during our 4 day stay.
The reception area is very close to the rooms on the main floor. You could hear the receptionist/owner talking very loud to customers over the phone early in the morning.

Very nice boarding house in a renovated historic building, with a very central location in the old town. This is not a hotel, and there is no staff present most of the time, however it provided everything we needed. Before our arrival, we received a text message (in Romanian) giving us the code for the exterior door, as well as our room number. From there, we easily found our room, which was unlocked, with the keys inside the room. Careful: if you bought a new Sim card for Europe, be sure to check your old one for your text messages. If you don't get the message, there is a phone number indicated next to the exterior door which you can call to speak to someone. As for the room itself, it was very nice, clean, spacious and quiet. The AC was also very effective - I didn't understand how the remote worked, but somehow, magically, the AC did. We stayed 2 nights but could picture ourselves staying there for longer in the future. The King room features a mini fridge, seating area and a very nice jacuzzi bath, but no shower. That is, there is a showerhead in the bath, but it is not fixed to the wall, you have to hold it in one hand to clean yourself. For us, it worked out and we enjoyed taking baths, but it's something to be aware of. Finally, note that checkout is 11 not noon as in many other hotels (my bad, it was in fact clearly indicated on Expedia). All in all, we had a very nice time at Cetatea Medievala and would stay there again. You will not be disappointed.

lovely little place
delightful little place in the centre of a delightful little town (but also very quiet). Super flower filled courtyard. Lovely big spacious room. the owner is a very civilised fellow who makes his own wine and spirits which you can taste in the cellar. A real gem of a pension.

I had a truly enjoyable experience at Cetatea Medievala. The atmosphere perfectly blends historical charm with comfort, creating a unique and relaxing setting. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the décor reflected the beautiful medieval character of the location. The courtyard was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a coffee, surrounded by the warm brick walls and peaceful ambiance.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, making my stay feel welcoming from start to finish. The location is ideal for exploring the area, with plenty of cultural and historical attractions nearby.
Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I would happily return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking both comfort and an authentic touch of history.

Nice little place, quiet and in the perfect spot a few minutes walk from best things in Sibiu, the old city centre.
Amazing hotel. So clean and comfortable in a great location. The jacuzzi is a real treat.
2 downsides though:
1. No one was at the front desk EVER. We did not know how to get in the hotel because we did not have international phone service. A random local woman helped us by calling the hotel and then we got the code. As no one was at treveption we could not pay with our 2 credit cards as we had hoped
2. Other people have remarked that while staying in the ground floor rooms, the sound of people in the hotel courtyard is loud and intrusive.

Extraordinary
Did not expect to be impressed. Just extraordinary. Short walk to the main square, located on a very quiet alley. Luxurious rooms furnished with great taste. Price, for us, was very affordable for what it offered. Location has no parking but there is cheap public parking (2 euros/day) close by. We did not read the instructions and couldn’t open the main gate. There are visible instructions and the owner answered immediately. Honor system for drinks. Room was very big with a jacuzzi bathroom. There is not breakfast either, but this is clearly specified. Interior patio is very lovely. Overall, one of the most luxurious feeling we experienced in a long time. Good job, owners. Cheers from Houston, Texas.

Lovely little hotel close to Sibiu city center.
It's a very nice hotel, clean, nice staff and close to everything. Two things that might be good to be aware of though, is that there is not a lot of soundproofing between the room and the outside. I had room #1, next to the reception and the street on the other side, and I could hear everything that was going on. Not that it is a big issue for me, but it could be for others. Though it's very minimal, as it's a small hotel and not a lot of traffic.
The other thing is that the bathroom only had a bathtub, and not a shower that was fixed to the wall. So if you are a person that prefers showers, be prepared to hold the showerhead from the bathtub in your hand as you do so.
