Nothing outstanding, but just fine for what we were looking for

My wife and I stayed with two of my old college buddies. Aside from some minor quibbles, we were happy with our stay. About the only small things were that 1) the main bathroom and the kitchen were less than spotless; we had to clean hair out of the tub, and grease off the stove and many of the dishes. 2) The two bathrooms were quite small. The bedrooms were not huge, but were fine for our purposes. 3) The downstairs tenants were not noisy, but we could hear them, and although they did not come up to our part of the house on the main floor, they did have access, and could have come up when we were away, which was a bit creepy. There were many good things--the places had plenty of room for us to sit and converse. The location was excellent, away from DC, but accessible by Metro after a 10-minute car trip. The neighborhood was quiet. The price was very reasonable, and it was a much better option than staying in a hotel.
