Rising just 147 metres above sea level, this is one of the highest located places in Denmark.
The town of Skanderborg has a total of three churches, and Skanderborg Castle Church used to be part of the former Skanderborg Castle. The royal residence of Skanderborg Castle was arguably the most important and influential building in the history of Skanderborg, but it was demolished stone by stone during the 18th century.
The lakes around Himmelbjerget between Ry and Silkeborg is one of the most beautiful places you find in Denmark. I can recommend to rent cannoons in the summer period and spent a few days sailing up the lakes while camping
