The walkout lower level features the family room, a large bar area with seating for 10, game room, 4th bedroom (twin over queen), and a full bath. Hot tub and sauna is open year-round. The detached garage has oversized doors and ceiling height and is heated all winter. Perfect for drying out gear and melting ice off your snowmobile. Very nice property with lots of amenities. Very clean and well decorated. Our group enjoyed the nightly sunsets from the spacious deck, the hot tub, the sauna and some of the games on the lower level. We had 3 couples and there was more than enough room for everyone.
The house was perfect for a large group of 14. Family enjoyed all the amenities. Having the Tesla charger was a plus. The game room was fun for all ages. This house has the best bathrooms and bedrooms. Kitchen, eating area and family room were excellent. A gift bag was even waiting for us upon arrival. Of course the UP speaks for its self.
If you are interested in visiting the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the location of Teresa and Ryan's house in Skanee is a perfect home base to experience everything that the UP has to offer. The amenities in the house are exceptional! Lots of space for the adults and even a private loft for the kids! The kitchen provided plenty of space for us to cook for a group of 12. The lake is breathtaking and the hosts provided the use of all of their lake toys (kayaks, paddle boards and floating lily pad) for the enjoyment of both adults and kids. The hot tub and sauna are bonuses. The hosts even provided firewood for a fire in the backyard and we enjoyed smores and the amazing starry night. On a clear night you can see so many shooting stars! The UP is remote and you'll end up driving a lot to get to different locations- close to the house (~30 minutes) was Quartzite falls and Canyon falls- both family friendly hikes. A kayak tour of Pictured Rocks is well worth the 2 hour drive to Munising and a stop of the way back in Marquette for dinner. Houghton was a lovely afternoon of shopping along the main street that has a ton of little mom and pop shops. All of the driving was well worth it as you will be rewarded with some beautiful scenery and great experiences. Thank you Teresa and Ryan for being such amazing hosts and for opening your home to our group.
I honestly do not know where to start with this review because it was just purely a magical place to have a family vacation. Our family of 13 stayed here just this past week. We were ages from 9-68 and we all loved this place. There is AMPLE room for large parties. Everything you could ask for is available from the kitchen, to the bedroom fans and extra blankets, activities, dock, bluetooth speakers, towels, and the list goes on an on. The beds are comfy, the sheets are quality and cozy. We spent a majority of the time downstairs and outside because it was perfect weather. Communication was great and the home was better than we anticipated! I will tell you that fishing from the dock this time of year was not good... we had a boat too and we caught one fish all week on the last night. It was a small bass and you would have thought that we had just caught a 10 foot shark we were so excited. L'Anse is a great little town with everything you need! I am glad that we bought most of groceries before we got to L'Anse though because the grocery prices are high there. We LOVE LOVE LOVED the Black Slate and Quartz Falls. We went over the Houghton for some shopping and dinner - it is a beautiful town! We also made our way over to the far side of the Keweenaw Bay for some rock hunting! We went to Breakers Beach, Calumet Park and McClain State park and all of those beaches were outstanding! This house and this vacation is worth every single penny! You will not be disappointed! Thank you
Ryan was a excellent host. Always quick to respond with any questions we had. The house is incredible. Plenty of room for everybody with amazing views of the bay. All of the amenities were outstanding, including the game room, sauna, hot tub, and a massive shop, which was perfect for our group of snowmobilers. We will definitely be back. What an incredible place!
All around fantastic property! Plenty to do for our group that ranged from 10 to 85! Sunsets, stars, fire pit, huge deck, pool table, foosball, shuffleboard, Blackstone, hot tub, kayaks, splash pad, dock, not sure what more we could have wanted. The surrounding area is full of waterfalls, local establishments, trails and more. We will 100% be back!!!
The cabin is gorgeous! True wood log cabin with spectacular views! It has everything that you need plus more. Very spacious even though it's a wood logs cabin it's also very up to date and well equipped. Would definitely love to go back and stay there again!
So many beds and bathrooms. Basement has lots to do and the sauna and hot tub were great after a long ride. Had 11 guys and had plenty of room. The heated garage was a fantastic luxury as well!! Home owners are great to communicate with and are very accommodating. Thanks Terry and Ryan!
We brought a large family with kids ages 14 through 23 and my parents (in their 80s), and everybody had a wonderful time. We spent our days enjoying the amazing view from the living room and deck and enjoyed the hot tub on several evenings. There was plenty of room for everybody, and it was awesome to have a space for the kids to hang out and sleep in. The game room downstairs was also a huge hit with everybody. Thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful home, we would absolutely come here again!
We had a wonderful time with our extended family of 14 in the house. There were a lot of water activities provided from a floating dock to paddle board/kayaks. The bay itself was clean and beautiful, we enjoyed our time in the water and hot tub. The house itself was clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the games in the basement. The kitchen was ample and the grilling options were great for dining. An extra that was appreciated were were some travel-sized bathroom items (i.e. toothbrushes, soap, lotion). It is also good to note that the communication with the host was easy and they were very responsive.
One thing that would have been nice if the welcome email with instructions were sent a few days earlier so we could have asked questions ahead of time and packed a couple additional items as needed. We also did not realize there was no A/C, but it is manageable with fans and the cooler nights.
Amazing house and location for a multiple family vacation. Owners were very communicative and welcoming. The amenities were fantastic and way above our expectations. Would love to go back again!
The property is amazing, it offers lots of things to do for a great vacation, without ever needing to leave the cabin. The hosts were very communicative prior to our checkin, and we had no issues throughout the duration of our stay. We’ll be looking to come back again in the future!
I have rented homes all over the country and this home the best! They had everything you could possible want to entertain anyone from babies to us older adults. The kitchen is very well equipped and has all the basics you need for cooking. The home is beautiful, the area is beautiful and everyone was so welcoming. We found 3 incredible waterfalls close to hike around and play in. There is a beautiful beach at the mouth of the Huron river that is close. Great place, great vacation!
Amazing views and property! Everything was super clean. Many items at the house provided for fun and entertainment!!! We would definitely stay here again!
