"I loved everything about this hotel. It’s aesthetically elegant inside and out. The staff was welcoming and upgraded us to a suite which was a delight after a long day hiking the glacier. The room and bathroom were spacious and felt new and modern. The included breakfast was tasty with a lots of options. We were treated to the most beautiful auroras at night. "

Thank you! 🙏 The hotel is what you'd expect of a 3 start. All basic amenities provided. The room was clean, warm and comfy. Amazing shower with good water pressure. The most amazing was to be able to see the Northern Lights out of the window of our room for hours. Wowww! The only thing that is missing is more sockets. Only one socket under the desk. I had to plug the kettle under there on the floor. Also maybe some kettles with longer cables would be good. The location of this hotel is also a bonus! High up on a hill with fantastic views all the way to the ocean and also very safe if Katla decides to erupt while you're there. You'll understand what I mean at the Lava Show. Breakfast was ok with continental option and scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. Dinner was not amazing from our point of view but we tend to eat quite basic food like pasta pizza burger schnitzels steak... There was none of that and it was very rich, combining lots of different ingredients and flavours... But I'm sure some other people probably found it amazing. It would be great though if they had some simpler options too. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would go there again. "

"This is a great little place to stay and not have to travel to see the northern lights. I stayed in one of the bungalows (the called it the chicken houses). Stay was comfortable, it is a small space so a bit crowded and the ceilings were short and sloped in so it made taking a shower a little challenging but still doable. The only turnoff for me was the sink was leaking from the drain pipe as well as one of the water lines going into the sink and the staff's response was to bring me towels. Luckily it wasn't a bad leak but you can tell the place suffers from bad plumbing issues with lots of water damage along the floor boards. "

"Overall clean and exactly as expected. The pod was cold even with the heater on and there was extreme wind on the night we stayed that was extremely loud. The communal space is nice, but the washrooms were under stocked in terms of paper towel and toilet paper."

"The location and aesthetic of the place was amazing. The free breakfast and staff were top-notch. The beds were not comfortable at all and felt like they were from the 1800’s, my only complaint. Other than that, highly recommend. We were so tired from our adventures, it didn’t matter. Also loved the offer to call if the northern lights showed, we believe they did call, but we were so exhausted that we could not wake up. "

"The advertising was misleading as we spent extra so we could have a hot tub, it was cold and dirty. There is no one on site so I emailed to see if they could fix it but no one replied. The rooms were fine and clean and the location was remote and pretty. Breakfast was ok, but only a couple hot items that were almost cold."
