Its mid century modern design detailing and craftsmanship made us feel spoiled and the home couldn’t get much closer to the water without being on stilts! The only negatives were the refrigerator that wasn’t cold enough and frying pans that had seen better days.Overall, we would love to be able to return to this house and highly recommend it to others."

"Overall beautiful location. Very well cleaned when we arrived. Cabin has every piece of equipment you could possibly imagine. Very quiet with huge lots all around. No immediate neighbors appeared to be in residence in mid-October.Only two suggestions: There is lots of something black in the bathtub tile grout, which needs to be replaced and is not the fault of the maid. I wanted to play my own video on the TV, which seemed to be able only to let me sign up for paid subscriptions, and needs better instructions if it actually can be used by guests."

"The property is listed as sleeping 4. The bed I saw up in the loft was an air mattress that looked like a twin. (It was not made.) The loft stairs are for young people as is the clearance to the ceiling in the loft. You cannot stand up. There was a queen bed downstairs, however, that was comfy. There was also an issue with the door not locking. Low crime area but still - I was not comfortable with that."

"The Cedar Orchard Cabin is an absolutely amazing property on Orcas Island! To be very upfront, we did have a slight hiccup upon our check-in. We contacted the host, John, and he arrived at the property very quickly and hustled to make the situation right. At the time, it was a little frustrating, but looking back, John did make things right and we were still able to enjoy the evening. Thank you John. Cedar Orchard Cabin has an amazing view of West Sound. The location is great for a homebase to explore the island and all that it has to offer. A great back yard to enjoy the sunset under the gazebo by a fire. Space for the dogs. It is a peaceful and very well equipped property for all ages. We did not get to enjoy the property to it's fullest, but we will be back. My recommendation is to make your stay at The Cedar Orchard Cabin multi-day to enjoy it to its fullest."

"The house was beautiful, and beautifully furnished. Everything was spotless, and the bedding was very high end. The most outstanding feature was the spectacular view of the bay, which could be enjoyed from the length of the house, and from balconies on two levels. Its secluded site offered complete privacy and quiet. A very special retreat."

"Lovely property right across from the harbor! The hosts were friendly and informative, the rental was well stocked, attractive and comfortable.A few areas to improve (but not enough to remove a star): - The bathrooms need more shelf space to store toiletries, particularly the one in the living room - Most of the interior door handles are installed upside down, which makes it a bit awkward to open the doors- The third bedroom has no closet space or dresser (washer/dryer/cleaning supplies take up the entire closet).We also encountered a resident of one of the downstairs units (glass door, not the Captain's Quarters) who was blasting a podcast at 3 a.m. From what we could tell, she is a permanent resident rather than a vacation renter, so it might happen again. We knocked on her door the second night when the noise started again at midnight, and she turned it off."
