"I stayed in the clock tower building. The room was clean and serviceable, but older. It worked well for me as I was attending a conference and was alone, but it would have been less suitable if I had more people with me. The resort itself was great, and the amenities were good as well. However, wildfire smoke from fires in Canada made being outside uncomfortable so I could not fully appreciate the outdoor activities and amenities while there. For conferences, skiing or just a short getaway, this would be a good location if you could stay in a better room in the newer buildings."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This amazing house at the top of Boyne Mountain exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had outstanding amenities. The hot tub and fire pit were perfect for relaxing after a day of activities, and the huge bunk room was a hit with our family. During a severe thunderstorm one night, everyone ended up sleeping together in the bunk room, and it became one of our favorite memories of the trip.The kitchen was well stocked, making it easy to prepare meals. We also loved the screened-in back porch, which was perfect for relaxing in the evenings without the bugs. We used the grill several times, and having an attached garage was a great bonus.The location was fantastic. Every day we walked the five minutes to the top of Boyne Mountain to enjoy the SkyBridge, and we made several trips to Deer Lake. I can only imagine how incredible this house is during ski season as a true ski-in, ski-out property.Our only complaint was the Nest thermostat. We happened to visit during one of the hottest weeks of the summer, and the thermostat kept reverting to Eco mode. We’d lower the temperature, only to have it reset a couple of hours later. Since there isn’t a separate HVAC zone for the upstairs, it took hours to cool those bedrooms, and several guests woke up sweating the first two nights.To their credit, Northern Michigan Vacations was outstanding. I texted them several times with questions, and they always responded within minutes. They contacted the owner, who made adjustments that helped, but the thermostat still changed temperatures on its own, especially overnight.My one recommendation is to replace the Nest thermostat with a standard programmable thermostat that guests can control. Aside from that, this home was outstanding. We had a wonderful family vacation, would definitely recommend it to others, and would gladly stay here again if that issue is resolved."

"Overall, we were very satisfied with this rental. The home is huge, spacious, and modern. We loved the Boyne Mountain community! So much to do and beautiful scenery. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. It was a perfect space for our family gathering! We were disappointed we didn't receive the address until 20 minutes before check-in (we were 4 couples coming from different areas and it seemed unreasonable to hold out on this info so we could plan our routes). The pet fee was excessive (250 nonrefundable) for a mini non-shedding poodle, when you still have to pay for any damage caused by a pet. We also asked the host about the type of coffee filters that would be needed and the number of hair dryers in the house. We were sent the general descriptions that didn't answer either of these 2 questions. Finally, there were a few maintenance issues which were minor, but IMO would have been caught were the home inspected between renters."
