"Room was cozy, beautifully decorated. Child friendly. Lovely view of the garden. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was just phenomenal. Will definitely be back. Parking is in front of the building. very safe though. No Reception area. Please make sure to message the property when they contact you so you get further instructions. Very professional and warm welcome on arrival. Would definitely recommend for visitors travelling to Paarl."

The Ivy Apartments

"The apartment at The Ivy is a wonderful "home away from home" . The location is perfect as it is on the main road where you can shop, eat & browse. The apartment is serviced every day & the staff are unobtrusive , giving you time to laze around in the morning before they come. This property would probably have earned 5 stars , if not for 2 minor downfalls : 1. There are no flat/top sheets on the beds. Given the heat of Franschhoek, it would be great to have the option of only covering oneself with a sheet; 2. The apartment which we had stayed in window blinds are not easy to open & close. The one blind to the balcony couldn't close & the light from the signage outside "The Ivy" shines rights into the Main bedroom. I think that even with the blinds closed, it would still shine through. Overall though, this a fantastic property choice for a weekend away or even for tourists. It is tastefully furnished & the owners have definitely thought of almost everything ."

"This is the third time I have stayed in this establishment and would stay over and over again.The ambience of the place,the character,the cleanliness,the amenities,the location,the whole experience was and always has been, consistently exceptional. Special mention for the staff members , Billy and Lovemore, whom not only were most attentive at all times but actually remembered me from my last visit which was in 2019!A lovely stay and cannot wait to return!"

"Absolutely stunning Unit!!! There are quite a bit of stairs. The staff were there to assist with carrying luggage to and from the Villa. Staff were helpful and friendly. Communication was constant between reception throughout our stay. Villa was clean and beautifully decorated. The only issue is the dishwasher is placed on top of the washing machine. I am short so i needed help from hubby to fill up. Other than this. The kitchen was well equipped and well designed. The View was absolutely amazing from the balcony. Lake, River and Pool View. Bedrooms and Bathrooms were clean and elegant. A stronger hairdryer would've been helpful. Fragrances all round were stunning!!! We tried out the restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious!! Staff were friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend to families and couples! We also recommend updating the information on Hotels.com. We were under the impression there was no reception at the property."

"The property is beautiful, and the staff is exceptional. Since our flight didn't depart until the evening, they kindly let us stay in the room longer. The breakfast was the best we experienced in SA. We also enjoyed walking around the property and meeting the horses. I highly recommend this place."

"This is a huge building, and it was quite a trek from the parking lot to the room with our stuff. However the room was comfortable and had all we needed. Some clients were smoking in their rooms which made the corridor smell strongly of smoke. We told management and they are aware of the problem."

"As a foreigner in South Africa it was an excellent last day at this wonderful location. It is only an hour from the airport, but safe and incredibly picturesque. It is small and surrounded by a wonderful garden, secure parking, rustic but absolutely sufficient amenities and a great breakfast by a wonderful fireplace next to a little library full of good books. Can’t think about anything else I’d want."
