"The advert on the hotels.com website did not match the facts of the stay. The advert states free parking it was not it cost me £30 for the stay. We spoke to the owner who stated that the advert was not placed by him. It was the fault of hotels.com as he does not use them you get your info from a 3rd party All I know is that I am £30 out of pocket. The stay was good as I can not blame hotels.com for all the rain."

"The building is old and needs some updating. But staff were friendly and helpful and it was a cheap 1 night stay which was what I needed."

"Great welcome - very friendly gentleman at reception allowed us to check in an hour is so early, which was very helpful as we had my elderly mother with us. Very clean rooms, great to have a mini fridge with the heatwave at the time, great shower. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of variety, well cooked food and nice atmosphere. Juice from a machine, but this was ok. Top tips: 1) Be aware the entrance for when you first arrive is not the one opposite the harbour (you can’t use that one until you have checked in and have a key card), The main entrance is at the rear on a small hill and although there are double yellow lines outside it is a quiet street and so, as we did, you could easily drop people and luggage off before going to park. There is a large car park just up the hill (then either a short slope to walk down over the car entrance side or a LOT of steps down from the other side). If not dropped off first, I suggest those with mobility issues avoid the steps side and with a little care for traffic, use the slope entrance side to walk down to the hotel after parking instead (it’s much closer to the hotel entrance from that side than the bottom of the steps). 2) The car parks in Torquay all use the RINGO app (although some take cash too)."

"We had a really lovely stay here. Room and bathroom were very big and great space for the three of us. Breakfast was yummy with great choices and all fresh and well cooked. "Looks very glamourous in the photo & apart from the fact we got a really large room, that's all that was good about it. There was NO soap or handwash in the bathroom, just a tiny bottle of shampoo & a toilet seat that should have been fixed months ago. There was no key to the room, all electronic & after the initial checking, the staff member disappeared and we never saw another staff member again, even when trying to get someone to adjust the toilet seat - it was quite dangerous if you weren't sure footed. Parking was also very restricted, & as we got a park, we weren't game enough to use the car again, in case there were none available on our return. Very disappointed 😞"

"Fabulous hotel. Friendly staff and wonderful position. We had a gorgeous room over looking the estuary. Couldn't fault anything. My husband collapsed in Salcombe and everyone at the hotel was very helpful, particularly members of the public who came to my husbands aid. I did thank the people that helped us but not having anyone's telephone numbers was not able to thank them properly. It was so appreciated. We had to go home so didn't get to enjoy the hotel as we would have liked. Thank you again and a big thank you to the people who helped us."
