Smith Creek Trailhead

There is a feeling that the hotel isn't the safest. You park in the underground parkade which is nice but open to the public. When you get into the elevator to your floor you don't need a card so anyone can come into the parkade and enter the hotel without it being secure. Our room was at the end on the 4th floor with a large window that overlooked the back stairs. We stayed 2 nights and all night people were in the stairwells talking and the blind on the window wasn't a good cover so if they tried they could see in. The floor appeared to have long term residents. When we got to the room it was nice and appeared clean with the exception of long black hairs on the clean towels. The face cloths and hand towels were pretty worn and thin - there was only one hand towel. I think that they must have recently done renovations because we had to plug in all the lamps and coffee maker and the night stands, fridge, etc.. There was no "do not disturb" sign for the door and because we were staying two nights we didn't want the room cleaned the second day so we didn't have to worry about securing our stuff - we had to put a hand written note on the door to ensure they didn't come for service. The blankets on the king sized bed were very thin and a little small for the bed so it was a little chilly at times during the night. The a/c was really loud as well. The location is good, thing appear to be clean on the premises although we didn't go down for the free breakfast.
