Smith's Lake For those wanting to enjoy still waters instead of the open ocean, Smiths Lake is the number one choice in the Pacific Palms area. Shrouded by a lush littoral forest and neatly separated from the sea by Sandbar Beach, this is a family favourite for those eager to enjoy a spot of water-skiing, boating, paddling or windsurfing (the open lake waters making for windsurfers dream!). With an impressive catchment area spanning 32 square kilometres and waterways of 11 square kilometres you can enjoy all the benefits of this unique, tucked-away calm waterway. However, should you feel a pull for the waves, the picturesque Cellito Beach can be accessed via a boardwalk at the northern end of Sandbar Beach.

My adult son & daughter and I spent a very pleasant few days together here. The house is large and comfortable and could have easily accommodated several more people than just the 3 of us. Location is lovely. Peaceful with serene views over the lake .
We loved the house but the decks were very dirty and had to be cleaned immediately for the kids to play outside. Had not been cleaned for awhile.

Cleanliness and omissions from description.
We arrived in the middle of a rain dump of over 300mm. Trying to take our luggage down a flight of slippery stairs in pouring rain with no handrail is no fun for people over 70yrs old who have breathing or movement difficulties. Had the fact that steep stairs were the only entry been advertised we would not have booked. When we finally got all the luggage in we and our two family members set about choosing bedrooms. The Downstairs double smelt mouldy and the Bed looked like it was for a "Little Person" being so low to the floor so we all had to stay upstairs. We discovered that nearly every wardrobe held a container of moisture absorbing chemical so there is obviously a dampness issue. Other things noticed were dirty blinds(dusty and some mould) and very dusty fan blades. There were also spider webs on walls and ceilings. One of the Bedrooms had 2 large stains on the carpet. It was impossible to use any of the furniture outside as it was all soaked. The backyard was a quagmire and there was rubbish everywhere which had washed down the hill. As for the lounge- it was very low to the floor and had long lost any semblance of support. Tuesday afternoon we went into Forster and found another place on the beach which at least was dry, had a view and a decent lounge to sit on. We had paid for 5 nights but could only put up with 2 nights of hell and gladly agreed to forfeit the in "value??" which we did not get by leaving early. The description of the property needs to be updated to reflect the steep stairs and the fact that anyone who has disabilities or difficulty in negotiating steep stairs should not stay there. The owner also needs to remove his boat because if the property has a capacity to sleep 12 persons there should be at least 2 car spaces available for hirees. I suffer from COPD and had innumerable coughing fits and some breathing difficulties because of dust and mould. The other 3 people had various movement difficulties exacerbated by the stairs. These issues will also be communicated to the Property Managers with suitable photographic evidence.
Lovely house and area the only thing I would suggest for safety would be a hand rail from carport to house as I’m not as steady on my feet anymore. Beautiful views!
