Let your worries wash away with the tides and feel your heart soar at the Pelican Pad. It's the best of both worlds--a 3rd floor unit with a gorgeous ocean view PLUS the only building at Topsail Dunes with an elevator to save your backs as you load in and out! This is a privately owned and managed unit, and we live just down the road, so you will have VIP status leading up to and during your stay! The Pelican Pad is our only rental property and future retirement home, so we love it just as much as you will! This one-bed (queen), one-bath condo is recently updated, top-to-bottom. The Pelican Pad is perfect for a romantic getaway or small family adventure! Have a couple kiddos? The unit also features twin bunk beds. The interior is lovely, but you'll probably want to spend most of your time taking in the gorgeous view on the patio, stocked with a table and chairs. You'll be greeted with a welcome basket plus a coffee station as well as some cold water bottles in the fridge. The restroom will be stocked with a few emergency items. You are certainly welcome to bring your own linens, but emergency back-up linens can be found in the bedroom closet. Renters will receive a link to a website managed by the owners with recommended restaurants, shopping, and activities! The unit is just steps from a private salt water pool and direct beach access. Look under the bunk beds to find a beach cart, beach chairs, and some beach toys! On the sound side of the building, you can find a well-kept communal area with covered picnic tables, playground equipment, horsheshoes, lawn bowling, and basketball. Enjoy some fun in the sun year-round, and visit every year to make it a beloved Topsail Island tradition! Just one hour from historic Wilmington, NC, if you are looking for a fun day trip, but you're probably not going to want to leave the Pelican Pad for long. : )

Do your best to minimize bringing sand into the unit by using the outdoor showers, etc. No sandy towels or garments in the washing machine, please.

In the immediate area there are just places t stay which we liked. There are plenty of places to visit and eat about 12 miles away. We loved this place. Easy access to the beach and great view from the balcony.

Great location!

I enjoy relaxing while at the beach as opposed to being in the midst of hustle and bustle and this was a great place to do just that! Not too far of a drive to some fantastic restaurants, and in a great spot where the beach wasn’t over crowded. Very much enjoyed our stay

Perfect for young families

This was such an excellent location and a perfect property for a family of 4 with two young boys. Clean and perfectly described. Appreciated the awesome porch and kitchen. Made traveling so easy. We found plenty of sharks teeth too!

Our stay was awesome, the property is very nice, clean and well kept. Be aware the condo is a little bit of a walk to the elevator and beach, but we made it work. Topsail is awesome and would definitely go back!

Fantastic condo!

We have stayed at many condo rentals, but this one had it all! Snacks, coffee, trash bags, hand soap, dish soap, it was amazing!! We had a fantastic trip and would love to return. Enjoyed our dinners at Shaka Taco and Riverview Cafe, but most of our time was spent at the beach. Perfection!

We had a great experience with this trip. It was our son's 8th birthday and he wanted to spend the weekend at the beach! This property is walking distance to the beach and we were able to see the ocean from our balcony. Room was clean. Very quiet area. Easy check in process. Last Minute Weekend Get-Away!

Perfect weekend spent at our favorite beach in a cute, clean and great location condo! Wonderful communication with owner. Recommend. Was a great sIze for husband and myself. 2 young kids would be comfortable on hallway bunks. Beach was the first weekend in May but I do see it being crowded in the peak season!

Excellent stay

From initial booking throughout the stay communication was excellent. We were informed prior to check in that the AC wasn’t working but had already scheduled repairs. The AC was repaired prior to our arrival and we were notified of same. Upon entering the unit there was a small welcome basket containing small snacks. The unit was great for my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary.the ocean view was beautiful great to wake up and have coffee on in the mornings. Would highly recommend this property.

Solo Trip

This was the first time I took a solo trip and I loved it. The condo, proximity to the beach and pool everything was perfect. I enjoyed all my walks, sitting on the balcony reading , listening to the ocean and 1 night I slept out there!! I’m in my 60’s and I felt very safe here! Davonna added so many special touches and my favorite was the neutrogena face wipes!! They were refreshing after a day on the beach. I can’t say enough to explain how great it was !!!! I will definitely stay here again!!!

Great Value

This was a nice, cozy condo in a community on the beach for a reasonable price. Perfect for two people. There are two bunk beds in the hallway for kids but I think it would begin being a little tight with more than that. Communication with the host was great and we were able to immediately enter the condo with not complicated check-in. A/C wasn't working (luckily not much of an issue as it was fairly temperate) but host responded immediately saying someone would come out. Unfortunately, the first time we needed the A/C was the day before we left so the repair wouldn't have helped us. Only nit-pick is the internet: the community uses a common guest internet that you have to click into (like when you're in a hotel) and it disconnects you automatically every several hours. A real pain. Plus, we brought a Roku so we could watch our streaming channels but couldn't get it connected (no ability to click the browser page required for access to the Internet.)

Would Not Return

Overall impression of the property was good upon arrival. We were happy the host communicated with us on the morning of check-in. However, once inside the unit, we were surprised & disappointed with the lack of cleanliness (i.e. long hairs on toilet, shower wall, bottom of fridge & the only dish towel hanging in kitchen; wet coffee left in coffee maker; food crusted to the dish drying mat; and dirty bath towel & bath rug to name some). On the first day of our 6-night stay, we ended up using disinfectant wipes to clean the kitchen and bathroom, as well as run a load of wash for the unit’s linens we planned to use. When paying a cleaning fee during booking, we did not expect to have to do so much cleaning ourselves. We know someone was there to have “cleaned” prior to our arrival because the unit was restocked with welcome treats. We recommend to bring a box fan with you for the bedroom if staying here during the summertime bc the bedroom remains much warmer than the rest of the condo and the lowest you’re allowed to set the thermostat is 72F. We would not stay here again.
