"The property has an excellent location - close to train station, restaurants and shopping. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We loved the storage room and lockers to safely store our bags after check out. The room was very small and only had an interior window looking to a community area where people were sitting and doing some activities. For the price, I would expect towels and soap included and the bed made for the guests but we knew what we are paying so I can’t complain."

"The diamond capsule hotel was a great experience with matching themed furniture and designs. I've had a perfect sleep overnight! (Please note that check-in doesn't close at 11pm. The desk is open 24/7)
Location: Requires a commute from Amsterdam South Station and walk through a university campus to get to.
Pros: 1) You have your own room and privacy. 2) It's spacious enough so you won't feel cramped or claustrophobic. 3) It is very secure so you can feel at ease in leaving your things without having to worry about it being stolen (like at a hostel)
Cons: Since this is classified as a hotel and not a hostel, I would expect more amenities to be made available. 1) They only provide a bathmat and a towel. No hand towels nor face cloths. 2) After showering there's a stagnant pool of water that accumulates in the middle next to the toilet. An easy fix would be to have a squeegee in each of the bathrooms so that we can get rid of the pool of water after the shower instead of having to wait or call housekeeping to fix the issue. 3) The light switch at the top bunk is NOT a master switch. This is a major problem because if you didn't turn off the lights at the bottom, you need to climb back down to turn them off before climbing back up to the top bunk. 4) Although the design of the room gives you privacy, it is not entirely soundproof so when staying at this location you must take caution that your next door neighbours can still hear what you are doing."
"I had a great stay at Ruby Emma Amsterdam and actually returned for the last part of my trip because I had such a positive experience during my first stay.
The hotel is modern, stylish, and incredibly high-tech, which made for a unique and seamless experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-designed, and I really appreciated how quiet the neighborhood was—it was nice to come back to a peaceful area after spending the day exploring the city.
While the hotel isn’t located in Amsterdam’s city center, the metro station is only about a five-minute walk away, making it quick and easy to get wherever you want to go.
The only downside was that I visited during the heatwave, and the air conditioning wasn’t cooling the room as well as I had hoped. Aside from that, everything else was great. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, they were able to hold my ice packs and medication which required refrigeration properly and I appreciated their hospitality.
Overall, I had a very positive experience, which is why I chose to come back for the end of my trip. I would definitely stay at Ruby Emma again on my next visit to Amsterdam."
"We love this hotel. It’s the second time we have stayed here when visiting Amsterdam. The hotel has a lovely vibe. Can’t quite put my finger on why. The rooms are spacious and the bar and restaurant facilities of a high standard.
The hotel is close to a metro rail stop and makes accessing by public transport easy. On the outskirts of the city a little but so easy to get to.
Will probably always stay here whenever we are in Amsterdam."
Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Arena Towers by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"We arrived early for our stay (due to an early flight). We stored our luggage for free in the luggage store. We had a slight concern about the room as it wasn't locked, but it was directly opposite reception, so hopefully any 'dodgy' characters may have been noticed. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Our room was a decent size for the 2 of us, and was clean. We had chosen not to have the room cleaned during our stay, and were surprised to find this entitled us to discount vouchers for the restaurant in the adjoining Holiday Inn (the Express has breakfast facilities, but doesn't cater for evening meals). We had one meal in the restaurant, which was good - fairly expensive, but the vouchers made it more reasonable.
The 'free' breakfast choice was reasonable - continental, scrambled egg, toast, yogurt, fruit etc.
The location is good. Generally a quiet area. It's a short walk to the nearby station, with a short journey to the main tourist areas.
Would definitely recommend."
