"For a 5-star rated hotel, this is one of the worst stays I’ve had. There were cockroaches in the room, the sink was clogged, and the shampoo and body wash were empty. The staff took so long to get back to us and didn’t address our concerns. "
"This property is very rundown and not clean .
Hair on the floors and on the bath, cigarette burn in the rugs .
This hotel is advertised as soundproofed, it is NOT !!
We had VERY loud music sounding in our room until 5 am ! "

"Start with the staff: they are fabulous! Your stay begins with a tour of the property - which is located in 3 adjoining buildings.
Staff assisted us with parking, which is tricky. You park in a gas station about 8 minutes by foot from the property. She rode with us and spoke to the gas station manager on our behalf. Be mindful that this hotel is in the historic Medina - you can’t drive up to it. We had initially parked on a street 2 bocks outside the city walls. We then moved it to the gas station.
My room had a classical North African design - everything was very tasteful, if not a little quirky, which I found endearing. By quirky, e.g., you shower behind a ladder that goes to a loft in my room. My bed was very comfortable. There was a delicious fruit tray waiting for me. The A/C worked pretty well, though in general they struggle in North Africa. I was able to sleep without issue.
Breakfast was delicious. It comprised of various Tunisian treats - all fresh. We also had dinner on the rooftop and it was delicious- as well as atmospheric especially during the call to prayer as the sun set.
Dar Antonia is 5-10 min away from all the cool sights of the Medina (ribbat, mosque, archaeological museum) and steps away from shopping galore.
This place is a 10/10 and a great value in my mind. If I come to Sousse again, there is no doubt that I am staying at the Dar Antonia!"
"The greatest place to stay in Sousse, without a doubt! Affordable, clean, super nice people/staff working there. One of the most popular places in Sousse, right at the entrance to the Medina, about a 7 minute walk to the beach, in the town center. minutes to the train, 1 minute to the bus area, etc. Mohammed at the front desk is the greatest guy you'll meet. He'll make sure you're happy and he's just a friendly, professional genuine caring person. And his English is great. Thanks so much, Mohammed! I stayed here 3 different times and can't wait to return! "
"A great hotel with free underground parking, the room is clean and spacious with friendly staff. Special thanks to reception staff including Chayma, Abderrazek and Jamel . Food is decent, highly recommended."
"I have being there many times. This time i was suprice over the good food.
It’s a very nice hotel for children. Our child 2 years love the pool and the disco for children🙂. I hope we can come back again next year. "
"You will never find hotel staff more friendly and caring and helpful where they can than the team here. I had a terrible vacation in the country, however, the kindness of the staff here was amazing. Amine, was so helpful and make me feel so comfortable and was extremely professional and a very helpful resource for my many questions, made great recommendations and made it a pleasant experience. He was very knowledgeable and was great with coordinating staff there. "
"This hotel is very lgbt friendly.
I had to flee another hotel due to homophobia and bigotry and the Hotel Sousseana was an excellent replacement and a safe haven too .
Very friendly reception staff who were knowledgeable about the local area and respected my pronouns as a non binary person.
Excellent breakfast every morning, friendly staff who respected my pronouns and great restaurants nearby .
Multi cultural mix of people and a nice retro hotel .
