The staff was great, the rooms are outdated and smelly! If you are looking for a nights sleep, and can get over the room smell, it’s great! I wouldn’t recommend for a lengthy stay. Also 5 days later and still waiting on the return deposit!

Great Option for an inexpensive comfortable stay

Front desk staff were very helpful. There’s no elevator, but they jumped in and carried our suitcases up the stairs for me. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A couple breakfast items were a little stale, but they had plenty of good options.

Baymont Inn in South Bend

3 day 2 night stay in South Bend for conference at ND. Hotel is fine if all you need is an affordable room. Area around hotel has restaurants and other amenities.

The beds are deceptively comfy - I didn't expect to fall asleep as I wasn't tired, just cold. The continental breakfast had an excellent spread of choices - including my favorite, biscuits and gravy. We had to ask one of the staff to open the door to the pool so we could get a swim in before we left and the pool was cold (no one's fault lol), but our overall experience was excellent. Would stay again.

While there were a few sub par moments at this hotel, it was quiet and we had a great night's sleep and a predictable but yummy hotel waffle in the morning. It was not far from Notre Dame with lots of eateries very close by, and the manager was helpful.

Mostly clean, but needs updates.

For the price, it was an okay stay. Check-in was friendly and quick enough, the room was mostly clean. There was a long hair on the bed that didn’t belong to either me or my husband. The bathroom was off putting and needed a lot of updates - paint peeling, tub cracks/peels, stains, floor cracks. Breakfast was underwhelming and the hot foods were served lukewarm at best. The overall experience wasn’t bad enough for me to bring up to management while there, but I wouldn’t stay again. For the value, it was just okay.
