We had a great long vacation at this property with our four combined families. The property had room to spare for our group which included multiple adults and children ranging from 3-16. The sprawling grounds included a treehouse and ample room for lawn games, fire pit conversation, and grilling. Great price for the space and location.

We enjoyed the space that this house offered to our large extended family. It allowed us to relax and enjoy some quality time together. Nice walk to the beach, and great couches/outdoor seating. The kids loved the game room and play set outside. We would definitely choose this house again.

Terrific spot for large golf group....great courses within 30 minutes drive. Lots of space for 12-16 men; bathrooms sufficient, kitchen great, outdoor area great. *Did not find a double sofa bed in any couch as listing claimed

The space in the house was perfect for our family vacation. Plenty of bedrooms, lots of common space, and we loved the outdoor space also. Our only complaint is that the house itself is in need of some repairs and updating it is a bit run down. The house is in a great location and just a short drive to 2 different beautiful beaches. The house manager responded very quickly to the couple problems we had.

We enjoyed out stay at this property. The house is huge with plenty of room for my family. The house was stocked well, it does need some updating, but we enjoyed ourselves. The wifi isn't strong but it just forced my family to play games which is great! We qould rent this property again!!

The house is big and open, lots of great spaces and an awesome kitchen/dining area. There were 9 of us and we were able to stretch out. We spent a lot of time on the patio with the fire pit. The beach is a super close walk away, maybe 15 minutes if you walk straight out the back then catch the path in the woods to the road. It’s a sweet beach, great rock picking. The property is huge and nice and private, apart from a shared driveway where we’d see the occasional person drive by. The shops are nice in South Haven and it’s just a short drive. We really enjoyed our stay at this home. My only complaint is that the wall oven on top buzzes loudly, not sure why but we killed the breaker on it for some of our time there.

The house was nice, but had a septic problem. We could not use the bathrooms most of the time , problem using the showers. Had to drive to the gas station to use the facilities and ended up getting a hotel room the last night. It was kind of a nightmare. I was reimbursed for one night and for the hotel room.

a 5* luxury beach house. It is an older home that could use tlc. they have begun some reno work thruout...the rooms are plenty big and there are lots of them. Gameroom is great, all beds are super comfy and seem new. There are enough small appliances & cookware to throw a huge party. - - every cabinet held a new surprise - but NO WHISK - lol. 3 of the bathrooms have been totally redone. Window a/c's worked as needed. GREAT front patio with loads of chairs, tables & firepit. Yard is all flat which is great for lawn games and the kidos. Really enjoyed the wild turkeys and deer who came to visit multiple times. SUPER HOME for groups....

We were able to accommodate our family of 20 well. We were disappointed that we did not have access through the path to the beach as the property next door had been sold so we had to travel by the road to get to the beach. Loved the beach and the sunset views we had. The cleaning team did not do a great job we found dust bunnies and food under the dining room table, the couches and the beds. We had plumbing issues that the owner tried to improve on but alas it did not work for long as Saturday AM we had problems again. We had wonderful nightly campfires, we went bowling and bumper car riding, toured town and visited the lighthouse too. We took walks not only along the beach but went to Van Buren Park and to close by Beer Tasting places. Please get an older and better cleaning crew and fix the septic system and your place will be great even with no longer having access to a walkway to the lake. Younger grandkids loved the climbing trees and tree house.

6/10

This unique older home had plenty of space for our extended family of 21 to be together for 4 nights. The air conditioning is not central, each room has its own window unit, but kept the house cool. The beach that is in walking distance from the house is very rocky, but at night it was a nice area to explore and see the sunset. North Beach in South Haven is a very clean beach and is about 5 miles from the house, it costs $10 to park there. Pros: the patio area in front of the house is spacious to hang out, lots of green space for the kids to run around and ride their bikes, plenty of room for parking, 2 refrigerators, plenty of towels and small amenities, bedding provided, washer & dryer, privacy and Wi-Fi. Cons: the water pressure is very low, kitchen drain clogged often-we needed to plunge it, we boiled water to wash dishes, could not get the dishwasher to work, the kitchen cupboards are full of items to use-but are very cluttered, the playset outside did not look safe and the cleanliness of the house was alright. Overall, we enjoyed our time together and exploring the South Haven area.

Nice home with plenty of space. Highlights are the large living room and outdoor areas. The proximity to South Haven and beach access are also great benefits. There were some cleanliness issues we encountered, including with the sheets/pillows and floors. The unit is in need of some maintenance, deep cleaning, and upgrades. It could also benefit from simplifying the furnishings and appliances, as some rooms felt quite cluttered. As others have called out, the property is on very hard well water and septic, which can be an adjustment for city folk. Perhaps a water softener will be considered as a future upgrade. There were some minor inaccuracies in the listing at the time of our booking, such as listing private beach access. The agency has promised to correct these. I could not endorse the property at this stage, but given some investment, it could really be great in the future!

Pros- Great location. Quiet place, lots of yard space, good communication. 1/2 mile from Park, bike trail, and rocky beach the kids liked to explore, which was great. Lots of bed space and bathrooms. House was well stocked. Tons of movies, which they had direct TV which didn't have much to offer. Cons- House was noticeably dirty, especially the kitchen drawers, floors, dishes, and couches were stained. Air conditioners didn't work very well during the heat of the day. There are a few notable updates but the house is just outdated. Looks like original flooring, doors, oven... Couple of the showers were hot/cold and not consistent. Though they have room for 21 we could only seat 12 unless some ate outside which wasn't ideal. I would say 21 people would be tight in that house to move around unless you spent most of it outside. We could not get Verizon phone service and the wifi worked somewhat in the morning and most evenings did not work enough to download anything. Overall we made the best of it and had a good time.

6/10

The place was very well furnished with linens, towels, dishes and cooking utensils. Water pressure was a problem, though, as two people had difficulty using showers at the same time or taking a shower when either the dishwasher or washing machine was running. On Tuesday, when we had scheduled a formal family photo shoot we had no water at all and could not shower, cook or use toilets all day long (had to drive to a state park to use toilets there). The problem was finally fixed while we were in town having dinner that evening since we were unable to do any cooking. Bedroom windows in the SE and SW bedrooms were very difficult to open, could only get one open in the SE bdrm. and two in the SW bdrm, but had to close one immediately due to an infestation of ants and a rotting sill. We did not try any other windows after that. Our 15 year old grandson was sleeping in the game room on an air mattress and sleeping bag for privacy until he started seeing mice running around and moved to sofa in the living room. After the water problem was fixed (filter changed) my wife and daughter washed clothes and their blouses and shorts came out with orange splotches all over them, ruining them. We did enjoy the area and the fact that the place was well supplied but we have had better maintained properties for family reunions in the past at more reasonable rates.

This rental needs a lot of updates and fixes for it to be rentable again in my honest opinion. The smell is old and moldy and gets worse from there. The pictures listed for the rental really should be updated and more realistic of the house itself. The pictures of the rocky shoal that is part of the listing is not remotely close to walk, especially with young children, however the beach in South Haven which is about 5-7 minutes down the highway is really nice and so is downtown South Haven. The size of the house is great for a big family trying to do an annual getaway but that is where it ends. One shower did not work, there was no water flow and spewed sediment out the faucet. This, of course is before it back filled with sewer feces as well as another toilet and bathtub the last evening there. The house is NOT clean and am pretty sure the floor has not been mopped in sometime. Under all the beds and couches it is littered with dead bugs, dust and other things that have been there for some time as well. The ceilings have multiple signs of water damage with questionable black mold in one of the hallways. The outside looks like it is a hay field that was just cut. Every fan in the house is filthy as well as the air conditioners. We made the best of it for the time being as we were not going to just leave and drive home 3.5 hours as children tend to ignore some of the things adults will pay attention to. Hopefully this review will help get the homeowners or property manager to fix the well or water main as well as replace the sewer main before renting again. This house is old and has not been properly maintained to be a rental property. This house is likely from the 70’s which is fine but it needs a LOT of work.

This house was a great spot for a large group. Lots of room to spread out, both inside and out. Comfortable sleeping arrangements, well stocked kitchen, though if you are bringing little ones, there are few plastic cups. Yes, there might be a musty smell at first but it clears up with the AC window units running. Location is very close to Pilgrim Haven beach, but it is VERY ROCKY! Van Buren State Park is about a mile away with nice beaches and city beaches in South Haven are about 10 minutes away, with perfect sandy beaches.

This house had plenty of space both inside and out for our large group. Our gang of little ones enjoyed being all together in the bunk room and the grown-ups appreciated the comfortable beds. The community areas inside and out had plenty of seating for us all. Internet and cell service was spotty but not an issue for us. Kitchen well stocked with things, though there were no plastic cups. As others have said, the house has a musty smell, initially, but soon cleared up when the window air conditioners were turned on and ran for a few hours. Ceiling fans helped keep the house cool even during 90 degree days. The large yard was great for running around and chasing fireflies and dragonflies and playing soccer and tag. The house is very close (half mile or so) to two parks, though they have rocky beaches. It's about a ten minute drive into South Haven proper where there are awesome sandy beaches. You can go to the South or North Beach parks and pay for parking or find access and free parking along Monroe Ave. All in all, a clean, comfortable place to stay.

10/10

This Property was a Great Stay for my family and I. It really does have as much space as it shows and MORE. Now, just and FYI for people who are interested in this property, this house is a bit old. There is NO CENTRAL AC. All Window Units. There was also an Odd smell in the house when we first checked in. There Stove my be somewhat of a challenge to work with for some people. You will only be able to use THIER Steel pots and pans and there are only a few and they do not have LARGE Pots and pans which is a problem when you have to feed close to 20 people. The Bedrooms are clean and very spacious. Bathroom are all great. New Washer and older dryer in place. Plenty space for kids to play outside. Patio in includes, gas grill, charcoal grills, first pit and plenty of chairs and tables. Patio even has a Bar Style Table and high stools. There is a small playground behind the property built in to a tree but seemed weak, old and dangerous. We avoided letting the children play on it. Not much to complain about, other than I wish this place had a Direct PATH to the lake behind the property but it doesn't. You need to drive about 1 minute down the road to get to the nearest park to access the Lake/Beach. Also, if you don't really NEED constant Air conditioning and don't mind hunting for the location of this place (kind of hard to find and hidden)... then you should be just fine. Overall, You should get your moneys worth staying here.

Don't be afraid of the older style home from appearance, the overall experience was great. Plenty of privacy for the duration of the visit. The outdoor patio area was the best part. Tons of space inside the house so that everyone can have their own bed. The only complaint was the wifi, but sometimes there's a tradeoff between that and seclusion so we'll take it. Will definitely be coming back at some point!

Well equipped large home that easily sleeps a very large family. Plenty of beds to go around and great bunk rooms that were fun for the kids. The outdoor space was wonderful to sit and enjoy family. Game room and living room were great hang out spots as well. The kitchen and grills outdoors made cooking easy for a large group. Help is just a phone call away if you run into any snags. On Demand hot water was challenging but workable. Short drive to many attractions.

We had a great time with our family group and enjoyed the proximity to South Haven. The space was big enough to be comfortable for a large group. Other reviews about water pressure/ water temperature issues are accurate. The large patio with plenty of seating gave us plenty of room to spend quality time together.

House was big enough that our party of 12 all had our own space. House is very old and it shows , cracks in ceilings Bedrooms were a big plus. All big! Kitchen was well stocked , almost too much. They were very cluttered that we could not put anything in them. 2 fridges was great. Outside patio was awesome! Never went in backyard Beach that is by house IS NOT with in walking distance as other reviews said , not even close and is it so rocky making it hard to even walk or swim WiFi very spotty but ok it’s vacation TV were in every room but they were not hooked up to cable/satellite only had vcr or DVD players living room tv had cable Few issues , and Property manager Was quick to get back to us and handle it All in all house was good , but would not stay there again

Overall, we had a great time at this house! The location was awesome for getting to South Haven town and beaches quickly, as well as day trips to St. Joe and Kalamazoo. The big yard with playset was clutch for our kids. Large living room was nice for chatting or games in the evening. We were able to squeeze 10 around the dining room table. Some other reviews were a little confusing...there ARE in fact 6 separate bedrooms, plus a pull-out in the living room. I agree with other reviewers that this house would be awesome with less stuff in it - just a lot of random appliances and electronics sitting around, and way too much dinnerware and glassware. Having two full-size fridges was a plus, though! Really our only issue was the internet. WiFi is advertised, but it's satellite, so very slow and unreliable. Some of my family was needing to do work, so that was a real inconvenience. But, if you're looking for somewhere to just unplug and relax, it wouldn't be an issue!

We stayed in July with a size of 19 and the house was plenty big enough. The location is fantastic. Walking distance to a swimming beach on Lake Michigan and only a couple miles away from a nice State Park with a swimming beach and dunes. There were some minor issues with the house such as low water pressure at times, kitchen drain problems on outr last night there which prevented us from making use of the kitchen that last 24 hours, and the kitchen is pretty cluttered with a lot of utensils and appliances. But otherwise the lay out of the house was great., we never felt cramped or crowded with 19 of us. The South Haven area is a fantastic location to have fun around.
