Very friendly staff and a beautiful setting. Now when you read the description of "rustic" and "historic" be prepared for small and no amenities...and I mean no amenities. Oh well, it was only for the night and the bears didn't break into the car so we have that to be thankful for 😁

Fantastic location in a forest directly by the lake. We stayed in the hotel, the basic rooms are quite small but very clean. Many food option. Highly recommended!

We loved being at Lake Tahoe for the hiking and views. The room in the hotel was very small but functional. No problem having no TV, but we sure could have used air conditioning. Very noisy with loud footfalls and talking until midnight. No hair dryer, water glasses, or even a small chair.

It was nice that coffee was right there on the same property! We stayed over 4th of July and it was super busy, but Camp Richardson was close to everything wanted to do. We rented kayaks and took a boat ride to tour the Vikingsholm castle right from the marina.

Rustic old small hotel. Clean room, basic accommodations, No AC, little ventilation in #105, which made it quite warm at night. Staff seemed uninformed about some amenities like whether the Camp Shuttle was in operation (it was, because we ran into the driver at the coffee station in the lobby!). 10 AM checkout ,but no availability of storing luggage for a couple of hours. (Really?) WiFi was acceptable. Hotel location was close to General store/Dining. Food was good and plentiful. Ice Cream Parlor and Bike rental directly across street.

My experience here was really well. The staff there were great and greeted me and my wife happily, even though it was late. They made sure we had everything to get settled in. Parking was good and we like that we can just walk down to the shore from the hotel. It was a really great stay.

Old hotel with plenty of charm. The staff were friendly and helpful and the local scenery was gorgeous. The bear warning are no joke was we saw several of them around the property. The negatives were circumstantial, but definitely impacted the experience: Our room faced the street and it was hard to sleep even with ear plugs. We stayed in July and on the second floor meaning hot hot nights since the best option for AC is the portable fan provided in the room.

We love Camp Richardson! It's a no frills place that is safe and clean. Easy access to the beach, excellent breakfast at the general store, nice little ice cream shop with huge portions across the road. The only downfall there is no air conditioning. The week we stayed in Tahoe, it was very warm. Even with all of the windows open and three fans running, it was uncomfortable, especially while trying to sleep. Our room was typically 80-84 degrees despite our efforts to cool the room down. Any other time of year, this probably wouldn't have been an issue.

The room was well maintained and excetionaly clean. Parking was good and the wi-fi reliable. The staff did not know the wrd no, everything was yes and attended to. The staff should be commended, they are an example of the service of the past that is seldom seen today. I can not say enough about them. We had a stay that most properties only dream of providing.

Rooms and property are very clean. Seems like “staff parking” is larger than the guest parking so could be tricky getting a space near the actual hotel. Keep in mind walls are thin, so if you’re looking for a quiet night just know you’re at the mercy of your neighbor. Wifi was great, nice and fast, no buffering. Complementary ice water available all day, coffee in the morning and an ice machine was a great touch! Walking distance to the general store, ice cream shop and coffee shop. The lake is about a 7 minute walk, and has a nice paved path for bikes and walkers.

It is a historic rustic hotel. It is clean. Remember when booking, there is no air conditioning in the rooms. It is pretty nice at night with fans in the window. Keep the fan in the windows all day though, to help the temp. If you are hot natured be prepared. It had a nice feel and we had a very small room. It was clean, but Remember there wont be a little microwave or fridge. It is a really neat place and had food,drinks, coffee and whatever you needed for the most part. After figuring out the fan situation, and just the general atmosphere it was awesome. There are cool trails all over the place. We will go back there with family, except get a cabin for the room and more windows. This place was very family friendly. Families gathered there around the tables and had laughs and good conversations. Besides the room being too warm, it was great and I wouldn't choose a different place to stay. There are really fancy places in Tahoe, this is laid back and fun. Lots of smiles.
