Lakefront Legacy luxury Lake Tahoe Estate Camp Richardson luxe01
Situated on the Private Jameson Beach shoreline, South Lake Tahoe lakefront estate showcases timeless architecture with an Old Tahoe design outfitted with modern amenities. Beautifully appointed cabinetry, custom-made by builder's craftsmen, and precision-shaped stonework are standout features of this legacy lakefront home. Gated for privacy, the level grounds with lawn and stately Sierra trees lead to 100' of breathtaking shoreline with a private pier and two Boat buoys. Enjoy warm summer days on the water and long summer nights by the lakeside, stone fire pit, and BBQ sitting area and deck. From the foyer, the main floor is revealed. A Luxury Chef Delight Kitchen leads to the Lakeview dining area, with a temperature control Glass wine Cellar bringing the outdoors in with 10' wide folding glass doors and windows opening to a spacious lakeside deck. Kids under 5 don't count towards occupancy.
The great room is dominated at its northern end by the granite boulder fireplace, Piano, and Pool table with a Lakeview window. While intimate sitting areas dot the room with a custom-designed Bar, allowing a large number of people to gather while maintaining spaces for a private conversation. A creative floor plan provides privacy on the upper floor. The primary suite opens via Custom doors to a balcony with space for two to enjoy the awe-inspiring lake views or the cozy reading nook. The ensuite bath has a solid stone bathtub with jets and unique doors. The Luxury suites on the second level also have a steam room and Lake or Garden views. Throughout this lakefront home, design and construction were intended to have a timeless, durable elegance, enough to last many generations, a true legacy home designed by a famous New York designer.
Here is a brief history of close Emerald Bay, Camp Richardson, and Private Jameson Beach Estates. Continue straight along Highway 89, also known here as Emerald Bay Road, while I tell you about our next stop, Camp Richardson and Private Jameson Beach Estates. It is about 3 miles.
The earliest records of ownership of the land around Camp Richardson are from 1875, when M. C. Gardner purchased several thousand acres of timber holdings from the U.S. Government and built a sawmill and railroad line there. He paid 25 cents an acre for the land. “Lucky” Baldwin bought out Gardner in the late 1800s and built a lakefront summer home for his family and the Tallac Hotel for visitors. Over the years, Lucky sold units of his land to families who built homes on adjoining properties. One of those units was purchased in 1924 by Captain Alonzo Richardson. Richardson built cabins and a lakefront pavilion; he added a hotel in 1926 and later a dining room and gas station. In 1927, he built the long wharf, which is now used as the Richardson Resort pier just a walk from the private Jameson Beach Estate. After Richardson died in the early 1950s, the resort was passed to his widow Cora and his daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Ray Knisley. By 1967, the resort's operation was becoming more difficult and less profitable, and the family was under great pressure to sell the land for commercial development. Ray approached the United States Forest Service with the option of taking over the land. There were many back-and-forth negotiations before an agreement was reached. Today, the Richardson Marina remains privately owned, and the Camp Richardson Resort is operated under a Special Use Permit from the United States Forest Service. For decades now, multiple generations of families have stayed in the cabins and played on the beach at Camp Richardson, creating lasting memories. Continue straight, roll down your windows, and take a whiff of that incredible Tahoe pine forest air! I will catch up with you when we are closer to Camp Richardson.

Wonderful property - perfect for a group or family gathering
9 of us stayed at this property and WOW, it is wonderful. The great room is magnificent and has a really good sound system. The dining room overlooks the lake and is the perfect place for large group meals. The property far exceeded my expectations and I would definitely go back.
Our big family really enjoyed staying for the snow winter season. Everything we needed was there for us and travel is nearby. the bar room/entertainment is huge for gathering and stay up late by the fireplace. Would love to come back again.
This is the second time my extended family have enjoyed staying at this lakefront property that has so much to offer all ages from 4 to 71. The sandy beach, clear lake water, long pier with a seating area and expansive lawns around the entire house made for both relaxation and playtime!
The house and grounds are awesome. The boat dock was a gathering place throughout the day. Great location. Our property contact Melanie did a great job welcoming us to the house and was available throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this house for a group of 10-12 people.
Came for a ski weekend with a group of friends. The house is beautiful and you can’t beat the location. More than enough space to relax and enough beds for the group. Amenities were great and communication with the property manager was perfect. Definitely want to come back and stay again for longer. Highly recommend.
This place was nothing short of amazing. I have been going to Lake Tahoe every year since i was born and this trip and stay topped all of my previous experiences. The private beach and dock alone was worth it, not to mention the extremely spacious cabin with a massive bar and game room. Really hope to get an opportunity to stay here again. Would strongly recommend this place to any one.

2nd time staying at this residence. Very clean property and well cared for. In need of some IT updating such as TVs and home audio.
Such a beautiful property and area. The pictures do not capture how amazing this house was. The property manager greeted us upon arrival and promptly returned our calls. Do not miss the Eagle Loop hike and the Cascade Falls hike, the waterfalls were worth the trip.
We will not hesitate to book this house again and again.
My sisters and I stayed here for my "big" birthday. It was delightful! Everything was first class. We loved the whole house but particularly the great room and my master suite (wow!). We spent a lot of time on the back deck and had our coffee every morning on the pier. The lake was as smooth as glass. Thanks for making my birthday one to remember!!! Special shout out to Melanie for taking such good care of us :)
Very nice property for a large family gathering. The sandy beach was a wonderful change from the rocky shoreline of the southwestern and northern shores of the Lake where we had stayed in prior years. The property manager was very responsive to a few issues that popped up. Kitchen was large and very well stocked for the many meals that we had. Parking, while limited to 4 vehicles, was plenty (unlike some places where getting 2 SUVs would have been tight). The paddle boards and canoe were well-used during our stay. The dock definitely needs some refurbishing but the location was unbeatable along Jameson Beach.
It is difficult to find the right words to describe this property. We visited there as a three generational family vacation and wow all of us were overwhelmingly impressed!
This very large, exquisitely decorated house made all of us feel like we were actually staying at a beautiful mountain lodge/hotel, but we were the only guests!
The pier with the cushioned seating was so relaxing with breathtaking views. The sandy beach with the crystal clear water was a big hit with our 3 and 5 year old grandkids.
Even though it was October and the water was a little chilly, everyone enjoyed the kayak/SUP and even went swimming!
We had so much fun both inside and outside this amazing home, that before leaving we signed up to do it again in October 2024.
All of us are truly looking forward to next Fall’s family vacation at Lake Tahoe!
Amazing house right on the water. Came for a wedding and had 5 couples and easily fit us. Paddle board, kayak, beers in the fridge, couldn’t ask for a better time. What really made the trip was the property manager Melanie. She took care of our every need, organized a private breakfast for us, helped us checkin early, was all around fantastic. Would definitely come again and would recommend to friends.
Absolutely the most stunning lakefront shoreline on the lake. Wide private sand beach and pier. Flat yard that makes life easy for all ages. Beautiful home with tons of room and great hang out spots. The grand hall with bar and pool table is incredible. We hardly left the property but when you do everything is convenient. Marina to rest jet skis is 5 min walk. Hiking Fallen Leaf lake is 10 min drive. Have stayed at many properties on the lake. This is the best. Melanie the care taker is also responsive and great! Will be back!

Very impressed with property. Was not told how to get thru the gate. Found a couple of dead mice caught in traps in kitchen and laundry room.
The home was beautiful and very accommodating. We did lose power and the back up generator battery was not working but it did not last long. The only negative issue was the water, it was inconsistent, we had people stuck in showers and the water barely dripped out. Other than inconsistent water pressure it was fabulous.
