"This clean, quiet cabin looks out onto mountains and fields. Perfect spot for viewing the night sky. Each morning we heard cows moooing and irrigation whooshing, but one night we clearly heard elk bugling again and again. The cabin has a nice kitchen, a huge bathroom, and a comfy bed. We enjoyed the large main room because it meant our dog could easily keep tabs on us. Our golden retriever was happy to meet the host's three friendly dogs. They greeted us each day and then drifted away. This cabin is the perfect base for touring the John Day fossil beds. The three units are quite a distance from one another, but Kimberly is a great place to start from each day. The Sheep Rock unit - with the Condon museum, Cant Ranch, and multiple short hikes with interpretive displays - is just 30 minutes away. We were able to spend time in all three John Day units plus tour the Kam-Wah-Chung museum in John Day and dig for fossils in the town of Fossil."

"Great place in central/eastern Oregon with a beautiful river and valley view from the back porch! We had a great time fishing, hiking and family time. The place was clean and well-stocked with cooking equipment too."

"What a wonderful time my mom, daughter and I had! The hosts were amazing and made it feel warm and welcoming. My family and I learned so much on this trip. We had such a great time horseback riding! The breakfast was also very tasty and I was so thankful they catered to my dietary needs ( I cant do dairy or gluten). We will be referring this place to others and I highly recommend."
Stunning Hilltop Home by John Day Fossil Beds

"The house is truly in a beautiful area! The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, pots and pans as well as many condiments and general supplies. Beds were super comfortable and the living arrangements and deck worked well for our family of six - 2 kids, grandparents and parents. It was a great location for exploring the John Day fossil beds. "
