Great host! It was a wonderful place to stay on our visit to Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks. It was very quiet with an amazing view and gorgeous sunsets over the sea of clouds below. And we loved the wood stove!

This was a great place to stay--very quiet, roomy, and cozy. The hosts were welcoming and very responsive, we asked for more matches and they brought them immediately! The furnace made the home very cozy and the hosts provided more than enough firewood. Kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, as well as the bathroom and living room. We would love to come back and stay here again! Thank you Peggy!
Easy check-in, property is secluded but also a quick drive away from Sequoia NP which made it a great place to relax after spending the day exploring the park. Photos are accurate and property is clean, beds are comfortable, and has a spacious common area. Appreciated the complimentary wine upon arrival - will be sure to reserve a tasting next time!
This property was a great spot for our visit to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. From the location we could explore each park and relax in comfort in the evenings. The space was great for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) with room and beds to spare. Check-in and check-out was also seamless.
Well appointed and super comfy house. Good responses from the host for anything we needed. We slept very well and enjoyed our time in the parks. Thank you!!!

As any normal person I was skeptical that it was going to be as pictured but I was not disappointed. Everything was amazing and beautiful! The area is great and the distance to get out into nature and reconnect was within reach here. I felt safe with my three small kids and didn't feel embarrassed with their rowdiness because it was just our family enjoying the sun and nature during the day and being bathed in stars at night. Thank you to the host, Peggy for her great hospitality and supplying all the things needed for a great stay. Pet friendly!!
Nice and quant home. She really took the time to add lots of nice helpful touches from labeling cabinets to tips for staying in the countryside like storing food in the fridge during ant season. The kids loved the trundle bed. The home is loved and the area was so peaceful! Bring a telescope as it’s perfect for stargazing out there :)

We stayed 3 nights in June. The host, Peggy and Mike are very nice and responsive throughout our stay. Bedrooms and bathroom are clean which is a plus for me. There’re ants, spiders and other bugs inside the house but it’s understandable given the remote and rural area. Dining option is very limited so be sure you prepare food prior. We didn’t use the outdoor grill but hope the host cover it to avoid dust since it’s a very nice grill. Kitchen has everything you need for simple meals. There’re a complimentary bottle of wine plus a bag of ice in the freeze which we found convenient and thoughtful of the host. Overall, we enjoyed the stay.
Wildlife abounded, coyotes, rabbits, a rattlesnake, quail, and many other birds. The house was in a great location, up a mountain with views of Fresno. We visited Kings Canyon, Sequoia, Yosemite, and the Pacific Ocean. The host kindly let us check in early and offered to help direct our route back to the airport if the roads were still closed due to the Lightning Complex Fire that happened during our stay.
The property was clean, and very well-stocked for our stay and for meals prepared there. We also felt well-taken-care-of, both en route to their property - when we needed to dodge a wildfire en route from San Diego, and also during our stay with Peggy's kind check-ins and tour advice. Arrive before sunset (the drive up is a bit winding/hilly but very pretty and peaceful for the soul!) and bring your groceries, and you'll be set for exploring beautiful Sequoia NP. Thanks, Peggy and team!!
Maggie, the host, was super helpful when we found ourselves in Fresno earlier than we thought. And there is not a lot to do in Fresno. The house is cute, the view is pretty spectacular. It is literally on top of a foothill/mountain so getting up and down takes a little time (especially if heights scare you a bit :). My only complaint about the house is there is no dishwasher and my teenagers are not effective when washing dishes so I was redoing all their dishes, I did miss a dishwasher. And that area is a restaurant desert, so think about food and what you want to cook before you get there. We ate in Kings Canyon and it was mediocre at best but we were hungry and tired so no one complained but looking back I wish I would have known that there were just no good restaurant options within a 30-45 minutes drive from there (except a pizza place 20-25 minutes away). But we had a great time exploring the area and Kings Canyon and Sequoia did not disappoint!

Repairs & Maintenance needed
My family of 4 and 2 pups stayed 3 nights in this home. We enjoyed the location of this property the most. When we first arrived we immediately could spell a rotting dead animal smell on the property and reported it to the home owner who said it was probably a deal rabbit that the near by coyotes probably killed. The smell lasted our entire stay. We could not open the windows in the house because the smell would fill up the home. The home was in need of many repairs & maintenance. The front door handle was super loose and the door was rusting. My husband went ahead and tightened the door handle himself. The home did not feel particularly clean either. There were cobwebs in the home, and the rug in the living room was very dirty. There were a few stains on the carpet in the master bedroom as well. The beds were comfortable and the homeowner did have lots of snacks & a free bottle of wine for us to enjoy, which was nice. This is not a bad property to stay at, it really just needs a good cleaning and some maintenance. I would stay here again if the home owner would give some care into the home.
We were there for 11 days in early May, the weather was about 10 degrees cooler than Fresno for our entire stay (about an hour away). It's close (1-2 hours if you take the north vs south route) to the Sequoia parks/forest, and there's a big cat sanctuary a few miles up the road.
The house itself is pretty simple, but did have basic essentials (oil, condiments, several seasonings, popcorn, granola bars, coffee, tea)- enough to get you started on day 1. The kitchen also had a good supply of pots, pans, mixing bowls, etc, if you intend to eat some meals at home like we did.
The house also had body wash, shampoo, conditioner, laundry soap, lotion, kitchen soap, etc. There was a hearty supply of towels, and the hosts offered to refresh them due to our long length of stay, but we didn't even go through them all (although, to be fair, we are a family who reuses the same bath towels a couple times).
There was a nice wood stove, and the essentials needed to get a fire started, we made smores on one of the coldest nights.
The land itself, it's gorgeous, with near 360 mountain views, the only place that's blocked is where the host lives, slightly higher up on the mountain. We saw all kinds of creatures on the property- quail, little lizards, bunnies, many other flying birds, owls; the owners also said foxes and bobcats sometimes. The 4yo loved it.
The hosts were very responsive, were able to suggest good local places to eat, but were also respectful of our privacy.

We enjoyed our stay at Sundew, immensely!
Great place to unwind after visiting the national parks. The sunset view was beautiful, the home had dishes and cookware available to use and other amenities that made our stay a cozy home away from home.

Super cozy place! Perfect to unwind! I highly recommend it!
This cute cabin was a great little home away from home. Close to the parks and plenty of room. Peggy was a wonderful hostess, very attentive and provided everything we needed to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Rustic comfort at its best. Definitely recommend!
