We only stayed for two nights, but during our day, we absolutely loved our accommodations and wished we had been able to enjoy the beautiful outdoor patio but it was closed on the day we would have enjoyed it!
We would definitely recommend this beautiful place to stay :)
The only complaint I have is that the hand soap and body wash containers were completely empty. The room was really clean, the bed was so comfortable, the deep claw foot tub was nice after a long day of walking. It was very hot/muggy in St. Andrews that day, so the air conditioning was amazing. We had a balcony just outside our room, it was nice sit out in the evening. The location was perfect! Love this Inn. 10/10 highly recommend. I can't wait to stay here again.
Stayed 2 nights, chosen for its location and reviews. Check-in was rough: I waited 15-20 minutes at the desk with luggage. Eventually a waitress standing there told me that it was a self check in and there should be a card on the second floor. She said in such of way that made me feel like it was obvious and I should have known this already. Found my Room #2 card, but the door code didn't work — I just turned the handle and it opened.
The room itself was lovely: Victorian furniture, unique art. Downsides were weak shower pressure and a loud AC unit. Since I couldn't find anyone to fix my door code, I left the room unlocked the whole stay.
Next morning, I went for a run, when I returned the door was locked - the front door code failed 3 times and triggered an alarm. No staff responded to my knocking. A passerby said the code hasn't worked in years — just push hard. I did and It opened.
I couldn't find anyone to ask for local recommendations. Later, a waitress in the lobby saw me eyeing the menu and told me they were "too busy" for supper, discouraging me from eating there. I went to Kennedy House instead, who were accommodating despite also being busy.
I left a note and a large tip for housekeeping asking for more water — they did not clean the room, tip untouched.
Overall, I never interacted with anyone who seemed to run the place. It was a beautiful house and room - at $300+/night, I expected a far more intimate, attended experience - it fell incredibly short.
