We really loved walking in and being welcomed with the beautiful stained glass windows. The room set up was perfect for our family and everything was very clean. The only issue was that on VRBO it stated 2 bathrooms. When we got there, we found there was just one. 8 people-1 bathroom.
We enjoyed our stay at the Bell Tower. It was located near where we needed to be and the host was very good at responding to my inquiries. We were 3 couples and it was a little awkward with the connecting bedroom. It would be fine for families with kids staying in the connecting room but it was different having a couple have to walk through another couple’s bedroom in the middle of the night or while trying to get ready. There is plenty of outdoor space and parking. Overall a nice place.
Know that the layout is a bit odd being an old church. Fabulous place with high quality furnishings and decor. Clean, great beds, all that is as good as it gets. Just know the layout. You enter a shared lobby from outside, then two door go to each suite or stairs go up to another shared lobby that has doors to the lofts for each suite (the loft bedroom has a lock) But to get to loft you go thru these shared lobby's. There are no restrooms in loft, so for middle of the night nature call you have to travel thru the shared lobbies, completely outside of your private space. And you have no idea if the other suite renters locked the exterior door to the lobby. If You rent both sides and have complete control of that exterior door this is not an issue. Also, the two bedrooms on ground floor inside your own suite are joined. You pass thru bedroom 1 to get to bedroom 2. Again, for families no big deal, but unrelated couples might find that weird. We loved it for family with adult male children.
We enjoyed our stay at Bell Towers. I appreciated the thoughtful details such as having q-tips and cotton balls in a container in the bathroom and several fans available for use in the rooms. The place is well decorated and feels comfortable. We were visiting family in Mankato and Waseca. Bell towers is well placed between both cities making our commute to each city easy. We will definitely plan to stay here the next time we visit.
Five of us stayed and crafted over a 4 day, 3 night weekend. Tables were provided. We had a great time! Very clean, very easy to communicate. Would definitely stay again!
The Belltower is a quaint, unique get away for friends and family. The stained- glasses windows in the main room are amazing and the beds were all very comfortable. We enjoyed hanging out by the fire with friends and cooking dinner in the furnished kitchen. The hosts have many small amenities including coffee, tea and cocoa! I definelty recommend a visit!
The location was perfect for us as we were at a family gathering in St Clair. My father grew up going to the church before it became lodging and we stayed here about 13 years ago. The windows are beautiful! Could use w little updating as it’s exactly as it was when we were here last (even w kitchen outlet still didn’t work). I would stay here again because of its charm and town.
This is such a unique property. We enjoyed our stay but it is a little odd to have separate bedrooms upstairs that did not have a bathroom. Since we only had half of the VRBO booked it did require some planning to think about having a key upstairs to unlock the downstairs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Next time I think I would book the entire property to feel more private. Otherwise, great space and well kept. Very enjoyable.

Host was responsive and accommodating initially. BUT several issues developed during our stay. 1. Difficulty accessing the property due to road work. Literally took 45 minutes to figure out how to get there because of it.2. Upon arrival… noted roach bait delivery at the door… should have been a red flag.3. Inaccurate listing description indicating we had 2 bathrooms but only had one and the loft is separate from the main suite, requiring passage through the common foyer to come to the main suite to use the bathroom in the night. 4. Loft area has 2 sleeping areas with total of 3 beds but you have to cross through one sleeping area to get to the next. 5. We began to notice little bugs in the sink didn’t realize at the time it was baby roaches and we just flushed them down the drain.6. By Early Sunday morning we discovered that there were cockroaches living in the cord hole of the coffee maker and kept coming out when we made coffee (probably because it got hot) and I smashed at least half dozen with my slipper. 7. Sunday was also our departure day and host refused to right the wrong because we didn’t make the complaint during our stay (which is false)8. I hope an exterminator was called for this issue & nobody else has had or will have to deal with what we went through **we were very excited for a fun weekend of crafting with cousins as we do 2x per year and hoped this would be our new gathering place as it’s the perfect location. Unfortunately, that will not be the case
We had a fun family gathering in this unique, pet-friendly space. The beds were comfortable and there were good spaces for games, a puzzle, and cooking. Be careful when you read the description so you understand which bedrooms are included in one or the other suite. There is nothing in St. Clair (except a nice park and playgrounds), but you're only 15 minutes from Mankato. Hosts were very responsive.
The Belltower suites was a great place to stay. The suite was very unique and nice. It was comfortable and the kids really enjoyed it (due to the weather, we got in a game of Life). I didn't cook while there, but there seemed like it had all the utensils I would have needed. The hosts were very accommodating.
I'll mention a couple of things that might help others looking to stay here. It's listed as 3 bedrooms but it feels like you have 4 bedrooms available: 2 downstairs and 2 upstairs. My kids liked this because everyone got their own room.
The rooms upstairs are physically separate and has a separate key. This worked fine for us since my teenage daughter was up there, but I would have been less comfortable with it had it just been younger kids (like having them stay across the hall at a hotel rather than having adjoining rooms).
The property was very clean and well maintained. We loved having plenty of room to spread out and relax on our trip. We were visiting my son who attends college in Saint Peter. We will definitely stay again.
Our group included my husband, daughter and her friend and our two dogs. The property was convenient and was refinished beautifully. I had looked at a few converted churches and this particular one was redone extremely well - making the rooms warm and welcoming with comfortable furniture and still keeping the unique qualities, such as the stained glass and shelving, of the church. We used the gas fireplace and used the big table to work on a puzzle. The king-sized bed in the master bedroom was a treat.
The owners managed to make an expansive space warm and welcoming. The girls stayed up in the loft, each had their own full-sized bed, and loved being able to open the windows that overlooked the main space to talk to us.
It's so hard to find a place that accepts dogs, let alone two, and ours had a wonderful stay. It’s stressful leaving them behind with a sitter. We would definitely book again.

Beautiful Stain Glass Windows
Host friendly and helpful
Location a bit remote
Church windows worth the stay on a sunny day :)
Dog friendly is why we stayed
8 people to 1 bath a little bit limiting
It was a beautiful space and super comfortable to hang out in. The beds were comfortable and had nice linens. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook and enjoys meals in. We highly recommend this place to others and will stay again if we come back to the area.
