Limetree at Peter Bay: Pool! North Shore Views!

Limetree at Peter Bay is a luxury villa perched above the clear blue waters, in the exclusive neighborhood of Upper Peter Bay. The mountainside property, directly bordering 17,000 acres of National Park, has spectacular panoramic views of St. Thomas, Jost Van Dyke, Tortola and the surrounding cays, plus direct views of Trunk Bay, Peter Bay, Cinnamon Bay, Francis Bay and Drake's Passage. There is no more stunning vista on St. John than that from Limetree.

Gentle mountain breezes in the tropical rain forest also make the property most pleasant at any time of the year. There is sunlight from dawn until dusk, with no mountains or hillsides to shade the property in the late day.

Breezy and open, the main floor flows beautifully from rich, spacious "3M" design (Mediterranean, Moroccan and Mexican) interiors to outdoor courtyards, a bridge and sun deck, terraces, and a hot tub and pool conveniently under the bridge at the entrance. Covered verandas wrap the villa on 3 levels, with plenty of seating, dining, and relaxing areas. The large, airy great room has plush furnishings, a breakfast bar, formal dining table and a complete gourmet Viking kitchen with an, built-in microwave, refrigerated drawer storage for beer and soda, massive refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, etc. Blend-tec blender is professional bar quality for those incredible frozen drinks, and a Nespresso machine you didn't know how much you needed. Plus Starlink internet that ensures seamless connectivity.

There are 4 bedrooms in the main villa. The master bedroom is on the top floor, with an adjoining media room and Mexican tile master bathroom with indoor/outdoor showers. Three bedrooms are on the lower level - all beautiful. Two share a jack and jill bathroom while the third "nanny room" has private access. And the gatehouse -nothing less than a love nest - Romeo and Juliet balcony included - perfect for a pair of lovebirds!

The pool and hot tub are delightful, with dramatic variable-colored lighting (ask Catered To) but so are the beaches! We also have plenty of parking (2 areas) on the property and easy turning-around. That's really a rare find on St. John!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The folks at CaterTo get no points for the accuracy of their description of the property. It is very nice, with spectacular views, but ... It is not a "new construction" by any means (as our host freely admitted when we arrived). And the floor plan is not conducive to five couples sharing equally. True, it sleeps 10, but one room is a massive master suite, while two others are much smaller and share a bathroom, and the fourth is a tiny "nanny's quarters." The fifth is a guest room in the gate house. So, it's designed for a family, not couples -- none of which is clear from the description.The "pool" is a wading pool that gets no sun. There is no water pressure in the showers. And there are no chairs in bedroom -- no place to sit, for example, while putting on your shoes.Again, the view is spectacular and the house is otherwise clean and comfortable, but because it is north-facing, it does not get much such except on one upper level deck in the afternoon where there are 4 lounge chairs.So, all-in-all, I must say that we've been in better places on St. John.

Overlooking the clear blue sea and the white sandy beaches was a great way to start our day. The beautiful villa was well appointed with all the essentials. We enjoyed the great location of the villa. It was a quick drive to reach the beautiful North shore beaches and Cruz Bay for restaurants & the grocery. However, it was hard to leave the villa pool with the wonderful views!
